These Walls Appreciation Thread

It's the perfect pop-prog metal song. Everybody shines.

- Jordan with the tasty synth line above the riff.
- JP with the solo where every note is meaningful and deliberate.
- JLB shining in both the pre-chorus and the chorus. Beautiful melodies with a delivery to match.
- And, above all, MP with the skillful cymbal work in the groove and the 3 simple yet HUGE and distinct drum fills before each chorus (first: only snare, second: only toms, third: only kick).

These Walls is a great song, but now I can't listen to it without hearing how close it sounds to Linkin Park's From The Inside (Great song btw) after someone in this forum pointed it out.

Maybe it's just me, but the guitar solo section in The Bigger Picture always reminds me of the one here.

Ha! I don’t even know that song, but it still sounded like Linkin Park to me.

Will also say, it might actually be the second best* track on 8V after I Walk Beside You.

Listening to this again now. There are some cool parts to it, but the lyrics are so generic and the vocal melody is so deliberate. And then you get to the solo and it’s just Send Her My Love (a great song, but still).

Thankfully, the superior I Walk Beside You follows.

I agree with you about I Walk Beside You.  That's a fantastic song.
