Originally Dream Theater were going to play Child in Time (Deep Purple) instead of Perfect Strangers, but because they enjoyed playing Perfect Strangers the day before on Bruce Dickinson's BBC show, they opted to do that one instead. Also scheduled for this show were Phantom of the Opera (Iron Maiden) and Bloodstone (Judas Priest) but because several guests could not make it to the show, these were dropped from the list 2 days before the gig. The band had this show recorded and shot with three cameras. MTV Europe did a special on DT which included Damage, Inc., Happiness is a Warm Gun, Winter, and snippets of the Yes medley. Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, Perfect Strangers, the Led Zeppelin medley and the big medley appear on the A Change of Seasons EP. Red Hill Mining Town, Tears and Damage, Inc. all appear on the D.T.I.F.C. Christmas CD 1996. The entire show is available on the "Uncovered" boot CD set.

Releases: A Change of Seasons, 1996 International Fan Club CD, Uncovered

14. Metropolis Part I
Eve (outro tape)

Vocals: James LaBrie
Guitar: John Petrucci
Keyboards: Derek Sherinian
Bass: John Myung

Notes: This time, when Derek began to play Diary of a Madman during his solo, both John P and Mike came out and joined him. After this gig, Derek decided to drop it from his solo as he thought they were becoming too cover crazy. Beginning with this show, they dropped Another Day from the set, since James was still recovering from his ruptured vocal cord, though they would play it if James felt up to it.

Waking Up the World Tour - 1st European Leg
2/20/1995 Stockholm, Sweden

(previous show) (return to list of shows) (next show)

Venue: Cirkus
Other Act(s): Fates Warning opened

Set List:
Little Green Bag/Wake Up! (intro tape)
1. Pull Me Under (first 3 minutes)
2. improv jam
3. Pull Me Under
4. 6:00
5. Take the Time (w/ extended keyboard solo)
6. Caught in a Web (w/ drum solo including samples)
7. Lifting Shadows Off a Dream
8. guitar solo (For Rena/Lost Without You)
9. Damage, Inc. (instrumental edit) (Metallica)
10. A Crack in the Mirror/
11. The Mirror/
12. Lie
13. Surrounded
14. keyboard solo/
A Mind Beside Itself:
15. I Erotomania
16. II Voices
17. III The Silent Man
~~~encore~~~
18. Metropolis Part I
Eve (outro tape)
Vocals: James LaBrie
Guitar: John Petrucci
Keyboards: Derek Sherinian
Bass: John Myung
Drums: Mike Portnoy
Notes: James has mic problems right at the beginning of the show, so after 3 mins of Pull Me Under, he stops the show and the rest of the band does a 10 min jazz improv jam while James gets a working mic. After he gets a working mic, they start up the show again (with apparently a lot of mishaps during the show). This also proved to be the last show with Derek as a hired gun.
