Ok, so I get the general concept, but I'm still not entirely clear how we determine winners of each individual pool. Say we've got four pools of 3. Assuming players are numbered 1 - 12, the four pools would be 1/2/3, 4/5/6, 7/8/9, 10/11/12.
So the first pool is 1, 2 and 3. Does that mean we set up three simultaneous games of 1 vs 2, 2 vs 3, and 1 vs 3? If any one player wins two of those games, then obviously they go to the final bracket, but what happens if 1 beats 2, 2 beats 3 and 3 beats 1? Or is there something I'm missing? (Which is very possible)
