Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Word. Unseasonably warm winter temps always remind me of a time when I was listening to Walton and Johnson on New Year's day back in '92 and they were pissed about it being nearly 80 degrees. Random memories :lol

I Would gladly take some of your heat, 5 degrees Fahrenheit here in Europe (mind you, that was the highest temperature today). On Saturday, It's supposed to go as low as -13 degrees... and I'm fucking going skiing next week.

14 years ago today, my wife was in labor and we spent the day in the hospital in the maternity ward.  They had basic cable in the room, but it was dismal.  The only thing I could find was "Groundhog Day" playing on USA.  I caught the end of it, then in true USA Network fashion, they played it again right after, and I was pleased.  When it finished, they showed it again.  Ha ha, very funny.  Keep repeating the movie, just as the movie itself has that repetition theme going on.  They literally showed it all day over and over again.

It wasn't until later that I realized that that day was Groundhog Day.  To me, February 2 is not Groundhog Day anymore, but my daughter's birthday.

Also, it bugs me when people call it "Groundhog's Day".  It's a national holiday, folks.  Get it right.

Good lord... I've never even seen snow in real life. Not true-blue, step-in-the-wrong-spot-and-you'll-sink-but-you-can-also-make-a-snow-angel--snow, at least. Closest I've come is back when I was a kid, the whole place was iced-over and there was snow falling, BUT once it hit the Texuss Hell-ground it'd melt in a jiffy-lube. Another time just a few years ago, it snowed and actually stayed frozen on the ground but it wasn't enough to frolic in. I want to frolic in some god-damn powder. I will say that most of the time I can't stand the cold, but another part of me really wants to just fall back into some deep cocaine. Wait.

Damnit, winter is almost over.  It's been way too warm here; I haven't gotten in nearly as much hockey as I wanted.

Out of curiosity,  I decided to check into Punxawhathefuckever Phil's accuracy rate.  Obviously I didn't expect anything remarkable,  50% seemed pretty likely, naturally.  Turns out that stupid rat has a success rate of 39%!  Hyping the thing up if it were 50/50 reliable would be silly enough,  but I won't begrudge people for enjoying the kitsch of the whole deal.  But 39%???

If I were from that town,  I'd move.

And why don't they change the rules?  If they reversed the outcome,  if he sees his shadow it means Spring comes early,  then he'd be sporting a fairly stout 61% success rate.  Would people actually criticize them for it,  like that's not how it should be, or something?
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.
