IMO - it's a lot more "drumsolo" than the old one. Less rudiments and technique and more flash and musical .

Oh course he had to do the speed roll and his signature crossover at the end, but he's got to do that..... anyways, he showed some cool new stuff. He also has some great takes on the Portnoy stuff with the new (old) songs on this leg of the tour.

You know, for me, drum solo time has always been "bathroom break time" but for some reason when I start watching Mangini play I can't look away until he's finished with it  :hefdaddy

Much better solo than the last one. I like that he incorporated the e-drum kit more. I definitely heard elements of BitS. The whole thing seemed to flow a lot better this time around. His speed and accuracy still blows my mind. The only gripe I have, if it can be called that, is his ending, after the octopus crossover, it seems anticlimactic for some reason. I haven't seen him live yet. Maybe that's where it starts? If so it would make more sense, but in the clip, it seems to lack something. I think if he wants to end on at that particular spot, he should end on a gong smash or something. That'd be :metal  :corn
Everything is immaterial. Do you know that reality is immaterial? This is not reality.
In what friggin' universe is a 68 minute long album "short"?

So good. Thanks for posting.
I like that solo better than the one we got in the U.S. but I really enjoyed both.
I wouldn't want somebody with 18 kids to mow my damn lawn, based on a longstanding bias I have against crazy fucks.
