Does anyone know what happened?

This is what I'm wondering as well.  There seems to be a taboo about discussing how someone died unless it was from a previously known condition.  I know two of my college classmates died, but was never able to find out what happened to them, which always leads me to point suicide because if was a car accident or something similar, it tends to get posted in the news.

It's been a while since we posted something here, and we hope you understand that this sudden tragedy left us in silence. We thank you so much for all your thoughts and condolences in the past days - it really means a lot to us! Thank you all.

We will be completely honest with you.
As you might imagine, this loss let us rethink a lot, and of course we were asking ourselves if there was going to be a "Beyond the Bridge" without Simon in the future. Besides losing a very good friend that he has been for many years to all of us, we also lost an incredible musician and our trustful advisor - he was at the core of our band.
Simon truly lived for the music. His abilities as a sound engineer and producer were simply outstanding. And he was such a very good young man.
Simon put so much time, energy, and all his enthusiasm and abilities into "Beyond the Bridge". He enjoyed so much talking about the future of this band, he organized so many great things, he spent hours on the phone with us and probably days on the road.
It was not an easy decision for us. For all of you who might be wondering about what lies ahead, here is an answer: We will need some time to organize ourselves, but we will continue with "Beyond the Bridge". And if it's only to remember Simon, there will be a second album. A grand album. We will try to make it the best CD you could possibly imagine. Because that's all he deserves.
Thank you again for all your support.
We are happy to have such great fans.

At this point I'm 95+% sure it's suicide.  :-[

I find it really wonderful and brave they have decided to carry on. And I found it appropriate to include a DT quote in my comment on that status update.

I just don't think it's suicide. It just doesn't seem like that. Or perhaps I just don't want to believe it.

When it's an accident or medical, people usually are very forthcoming with that information.  If it was an accident or foul play, that would be reported in the media.  If someone dies in a car accident, it usually makes the local news, and if it doesn't people are usually open about it so people don't suspect the unsavory deaths.  Same for murder victims, although the media usually covers that.  The only other ones that families tend to keep under wraps is drug overdose or autoerotic asphyxiation, which I guess I hadn't considered and probably should have before assuming suicide.

Maybe its because I'm curious like a cat, but I always want to know what happened to people.  Two people I went to college with died and I never was able to track down answers and it's always bugged me.

This was definitely the biggest surprise from last year and a very strong debut album.

That really is a beautiful song, from a beautiful album and a beautiful group of musicians. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

This was definitely the biggest surprise from last year and a very strong debut album.

Yup, definitely a front runner, if not the top album of mine from last year. They are in the studio I do believe working on another album.

Apparently,  my copy of their debut got lost in the mail. I emailed them back and they were so kind to send another one, due to it being their summer sale deal. I love when bands do these types of things.

That's a sensible choice. :)

The solo of that song is one of the highlight of the album, as it is the rest of the song. The two favourites of mine stay TDIH and The Call, though. :D

Really, it's hard to choose a favorite, the whole album rocks...  but if I had to, I'd go Triumph of Irreality.

2012 AOTY for me.

Definitely one of the best debut albums I have ever heard. Favorite song would probably be either "The Difference is Human" or "All a man can do".

I'm thinking about ordering Where The Earth And Sky Meet, like what i've heard so far.

I wonder if someone could check out who plays percussion on the album. There's some cool Marimba parts laying in the background on The Apparition and out of curiosity I wonder if it's programmed or a real musician playing. Sounds pretty authentic which is cool because it's not often the instrument is used in prog which is a shame because it's a instrument with alot of expression and emotion depending on who's playing of course.

Well, their drummer is Fabian Meier, so I guess that's the guy. If you can come up with a non-dickish way of asking (nothing like "Hey guys, are the drums on The Apparition fake? 'Cause it'd be awesome if not, but I really think they are!") and I get the chance to, I'll ask the guys when I see them in November.

:lol Yea that's not a great way to ask! It's not that important, it was more if it said anything in the credits on the CD. I'm probably gonna buy it anyway so it's no rush but if you wanna ask after their show feel free to do so, that would be much appreciated!  :metal

Have they mentioned any studio activity?

Listening to WtEaSM right now, it's so soothing to listen to.

I hope so. But, since this album has been a couple years in the making to make perfect, and one of the main members died...it's hard to tell. I don't care if they don't surpass this album, I love her vocals, plus the music.

Disclaimer: I know some of you guys thought there was some new Beyond the Bridge information when you saw this new post. There isn't. Sorry about that.

So, fans of Beyond the Bridge, seeing how they've only got one album up still (and seeing how I tried to send them in every roulette I'm in to convert more people), would anyone be interested in voting in the quick and short Beyond the Bridge survivor to determine the best song from The Old Man and the Spirit? If we get more than five people, I'll fire it away, if not, I'll just go ahead and run the full-fledged Kamelot survivor.

Regardless of how many people we get, I think it won't hurt to state once more that this album is so amazing. Progressive metal perfection and it doesn't grow old regardless of how many times I listen to it.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.
