Eipcloud
James LaBrie
Rush
Storm Corrosion
Torche

Everything else is a wait and see for me, and because there are so many other albums coming out. I'd just limit it to five.

Pretty excited for the new Meshuggah.
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

Circus Maximus fo sho.

....

Oh, you said 2012, not 2084. My bad.
:lol

The new album by Frost*, if it makes the 2012 mark. Also Flying Colors.

I thought Jem stopped doing Frost* altogether?

And I'd add Epicloud, new Coheed, and Storm Corrosion as close seconds to Clockwork Angels.

They had a gig in December (it was legendary!), and he's writing songs for the new album.

Karnivool said in a recent interview that they are targetting late 2012 for their new-ey.

So that.

The two I would call myself excited for are based on speculation more than any hard details.

1. Neal Schon and Steve Smith have an instrumental project coming out sometime this year, which might feature Jan Hammer on some tracks.  That likely means jazz rock fusion, possibly the best style for all three.  It's speculation, though, since all I know is that it's a Schon and Smitty project.  Hammer was rumored to have recorded with Schon, but Schon has two albums coming out.  This one just seems the more likely guess.

2. Psychotic Waltz hopefully gets their reunion album out.  It's been many years since I've had any new music from Devon Graves, I'm really getting anxious for some.

-----------

Winds is also apparently working on new material, but I don't expect anything in 2012.  They've indicated they have no intention of rushing things.  They've also stated they aren't dead a few times, so that's ok.

Right now, Meshuggah and the new Mars Volta. I'm assuming the new Periphery drops this year too, but those two are the most anticipated for me.

The new Alice in Chains...maybe the new Devin Townsend.

Wait what. Where did you get this information?

Anyway, so far my most anticipated release is Storm Corrosion and Meshuggah. Possibly, following this thread will change that :D You guys mention so many artists I had forgot was releasing albums this year, like Tool, Rush and James LaBrie. 2012 certainly looks good so far.

I don't trust you at all!! There's just no way... I mean, I WANT to trust you, but I just can't. Not after finding you all tied up to our sex swing in the backyard with Billy the Shiv; you broke something inside me that day that I didn't want to be broken. So, no. No tool. Not for you. Not for me. Not for Maynard. Go find your tool in someone else's box!!!

...whodat?

P.S. Really anticipating Flying Colors after watching that Portnoy interview; and hearing about the Blu-Ray release has me giddy over Storm Corrosion even more. But all those still pale in comparison to the massive diamond-like hard-on I have for Fire Make Thunder. Oooooooh!

Meshuggah's Koloss. The only one of my major bands releasing anything that know of.

Also the small swedish band A.C.T is probably releasing their fifth album this year, which will be very interesting.

It was the new Nightwish - which is, in one word, brilliant!  I had high hopes, and this album exceeded my expectations by a mile.

Looking forward to new Rush, but not much else seems interesting to me.
