Weeds. But stop after the third season. The writing just gets shittier with each episode after season 3.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

I do love True Blood a bit too much for my own good. It's a bit cheesy at times and in the beginning the acting of certain characters will degrade the great story but it gets much, much better from the second half of the first season. I didn't like the third season much but the badassness after that goes through the roof (except for when a certain character's heritage is revealed which is...odd). I back this recommendation with my horde of undeadlings. Oh lord, Alex Skarsgard as Eric Northman.. Such a badass vampire. I just really want to see him rip the head off of every single Twilight character and then do 'em real good. Has to be afterwards. Speaking of classy sexuality...
Spoilz..
you mean like when Bill nearly twisted the head off of what's-her-face bitch whilst fucking her like it was rape? Classy indeed!  :P
Basically, watch it for Erich Northman and Russel Edgington alone. I am so rooting for the evil vampire horde.

stuck with it anyhow, you're mostly right though.
Last season got back to basics, more kevin nealand

TRUE BLOOD....sigh...ya..I watched I think I gave it two maybe three seasons..it kept getting weaker...and every time it did..they'd add a new supernatural species as though that would save it from weak plots.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Happy Lives to you all.

:lol nice review TJorge.... it has its low times indeed Ytse... but it never failed to amaze me... frigging love that show.... Erich Northman, Han Solo and Sawyer are easily my fave characters of all time... and you can see the similarities if you look close enough....

Wow, thanks for all the responses! I am definitely gonna have to check out a few of these. I have already seen Arrested Development, and the first couple seasons of True Blood (kinda gave up on this one  :-\)

I especially enjoy the shows HBO puts out, so I might start with one of those. The praise for the Sopranos is always a bit staggering, but I have never got into it because of its length. It just seems like a big investment of my time. Something I need to just get for a weekend and go on a marathon. This weekend is coming up pretty soon  ;)

Battlestar Galactica is only 4 seasons, with none longer than 22-23 episodes. So, yeah that, NOW!!

Don't blame you on True Blood, I'm just about to give up on it!

I think the first season of True Blood was great.

I also thought 2 was really good.

3 was like...what? Franklin was a badass though.

4, I just stopped halfway. Couldn't take it anymore.

You should watch Supernatural  :tup

I'm also with others saying The Shield and Breaking Bad.

IMO, Breaking Bad is the best show out there.

If you're looking for a shorter time commitment and you haven't seen either Firefly or Freaks and Geeks, those are both excellent shows that didn't last a full season

The X-Files
Breaking Bad (best drama currently airing)
Babylon 5 (kinda hokey nowadays, but still a pleasure to watch for the storyline)
The Shield
Rome
The Walking Dead
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (Best Star Trek show IMO)
Fringe
Cowboy Bebop (it's anime yes, but fuck you, watch it)

For Comedies:
Community
Parks and Recreation (most consistent comedy I've seen in a while... once you get into Season 2!)
Arrested Development
Archer
Weeds
The Office (you can quit around Season 5, it just gets worse from there)

If you haven't started watching breaking bad yet, you should do so immediately.
I'm not sure how literal 'God created man in his own image' is, but it would be pretty crappy if there was a god but he died a while ago of appendicitus.

Game. Of. Motherfucking. Thrones.

Now.

No, seriously.

Fucking thing isn't on Netflix.

I'm beginning to seriously wonder why I still pay $8 a month for this.

No HBO will ever be on Netflix, in all likelihood.
