3, 4 and 5 are spot on. If it wern't for the legal system allowing people to sue over some of the most silly shit imaginable then I'd agree with the one about the mp3 players ect...

The reason I say that is that I could see some idiot bopping down the sidewalk and walking into traffic without paying attention to his/her surroundings and then suing the driver that hit him.
All of this has happened before and all of this will happen again

I agree about 2.  I'm happy for people to get themselves killed if their texting is more important than looking both ways,  but I really don't want to be the instrument of their demise.  I can't afford the body work or the legal fees.

Aside from coffee, probably #1 smuggled item from Germany. Always have to bring some back when I go there.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I was going to bring some in to America last year. After hearing about some Canadian woman getting fined $300 for taking some in, I decided not to risk it so me and Sigz just ate them before I caught my plane.

Totally agree on the rare meat thing. I like my meat hot and pink, and a lot of places wont give me medium rare! Examples: TGIF in Michigan said no, Texas Steak House in Chicago said no, etc. The list goes on, and it pisses me off.

Pretty stupid legislation, and at the state / local level.

I actually think 5 is the most legitimate one, though I still think it's rather silly.

That one surprised me when I found it. It's not a problem I've ever had in California, and people here order their burgers all sorts of ways.

On the American Kinder Egg ban:

Problem solved.

Who actually buys the eggs with the option of buying the bars other than seven year old kids anyway?

Yeah, never heard of that either.  You can get meat down here that's still mooing.  I will say that after a brief bit of reading up,  I can see why they distinguish between steaks and ground meat.

I can only understand two of these even being legitimate issues (the meat one and maybe the cell phone one), and even then I don't think they warrant a ban.

Although I'm not gonna lie, I'd love a ban on baggy pants.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

That one temps me as well, but when the city council dropped the "sign of gang activity" line, I become instantly annoyed.

Why coffee?   In the end, if you're consuming a month after roasting it's well past it's prime period.  I can see you smuggling a few pounds for a month or maybe two, but after that you should be looking for a quality roaster here, anyways.

If I smuggled anything out of Germany it would be some of the older Asbach Uralt varieties.  Annoying they only sell their youngest one, here.

Why isn't the Four Loko ban in that? or was that 2010?

The criteria were subjective. But I went for things I thought just about everybody would agree with.

I was curious why coffee as well.  I didn't notice anything distinct about coffee when I was over there, except that they dole it out by the thimble full.
