I can't believe Selig got an extension. So much for retirement.

Montero+Noesi for Pineda+Campos

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I understand it's probably a better trade for the Yankees, but I fucking LOVED Noesi and Montero. Sucks so bad.

Why? Noesi is a dime a dozen and Montero, while might be great, represents a surplus: offense. So you trade for what you actually need: pitching. You get Pineda for five years. That's an incredible trade for the Yankees. Montero never actually really profiled more than a DH if you really want the cold hard facts.

Kuroda has just been signed.

Peace out Hughes or AJ for a bat.

Holy fuck. The Yankees right now

CC/Pineda/Kuroda/Nova/Garcia

Jeter
Granderson
Tex/Cano (LHP/RHP)
A-Rod
Cano/Tex (LHP/RHP)
Swish
DH
Martin
Gardner

My god. My boner is now huge.

Bullpen

Logan, D-Rob, Soriano, Mo and some other dudes. But RoSoMo with Joba returning (hopefully). We have THE best pen in the AL, arguably in the ML. Fucking AAA

Wow, seeing the amount of hate going Braun's way is sad.  I get it if he turns out guilty, to a point.  This test is for after the regular season, though, right?  It's supposedly not even a PED, just an incidental banned substance.  We simply don't know much, but the common fan seems convinced that he cheated his way to the MVP ward.

If this really turns out to be a medical issue that gave him no competitive advantage... ESPN ruined him permanently.  In a world with no patience and no open mind, how can you release that on a guy?  His image will not recover from this, I'm convinced.  Maybe that's deserved, but what if not?

They say these trainers know exactly what's on the banned substance list. Even if it's nothing, he should say something to MLB. "hey, I got the herps. That's why you're going to see this. Here are reports from a number of doctors that show it".

Boom, problem solved. If he had done that, it would be a non-issue.

How exactly would that justify crucifying him before we have any real evidence?  Evidence we will likely have withina few weeks?

It doesn't justify it, but he wouldn't be as crucified as he is right now.

And that's the point. If you lost $10,000 at the casino, you plan on telling your wife before she finds out? While both suck, it's better to say it up front.

If they win the appeal he will never have to share details about the situation, and that's probably what they want.  MLB is not allowed to share details about the situation, is Braun's side similarly confined to those rules right now?

I believe so. Until the appeal process is done, both sides have to STFU.

It just makes you wonder if ANY of these guys are legitimate. Which, I know most probably are. But I just can't believe it. The jury is still out on Pujols for most people.

OK, I feel stupid, what's the advantage of lying about your age in a pro sport?  Is it just to cover cheating while an amateur?  Better contract by having a younger age listed?

Both. Also, it makes you look better. Especially when the difference is 3 years.

Well, I meant more because so far I haven't heard of a guy changing his age to cover something.

But that seems to be happening a lot to the Dominican players, I bet some Puerto Ricans did it as well but since now they have to enter through the draft, it's got to be very difficult.

Which is true. But look at Pujols. I don't doubt that the thinks he's 31. But, I'm not sure he really is 31. He looks too much older.

Then let's say he's 2-3 years older than he says... wouldn't that make it the kind of numbers he would've had right now more scary??

Well, he's already showed signs of decline. A-Rod, save for this last season, has still been putting up great numbers. In fact, he would have probably continued to do so had he not been injured.

Or were you talking about Fauxsta?

If I hadn't posted this yet, Detroit fans are probably hurting. Cabby is looking to get walked 4 times a game with V-Mart out for 2012 with a torn ACL.

Well, they would've never given him a 10 year contract to begin with. Though the Mets would've.
