None.

There are bands that I don't listen to much anymore and bands that I will no longer support, but that usually doesn't invalidate their earlier material.

There are bands from my childhood that I don't find appealing any more, but the fact that I enjoyed their music at some point keeps me from actively disliking them.

Metallica. I worshiped them and now actively despise them.

I see what you did there.

NSYNC and other various boy bands.

I read that as individual letters, and was like who the hell were N-S-Y-N-C?
Nash, Stills, Young, Nash, and Crosby.  Duh.

None that I can think of. Anyway, "actively dislike" implies that disliking them is a process that occupies my time. If I dislike a band, I passively dislike them and just move on. :p
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Actively disliking a band, especially one you used to like, is just really snobby.

I can't find one band that I suddenly dislike for some reason. Even if I find a band's recent output bad it doesn't change the fact that I still enjoy/love their previous stuff.

I just can't think of any band to fit this.  I have more examples of more the opposite...bands I used to reject due to my own narrow mindedness, but now appreciate.

This is more like me.  I can easily put half the hair bands of the 80s into this category because I thought they were "posers" in high school.  A prime example would be Poison, who's music I love now, but wouldn't even give them a listen when I was a kid simply because the kids I got high with didn't like them.  Being a teen sucked balls.

Korn - I used to really love their older stuff, since a lot of it was rather bizarre and twisted. But ever since Untitled, I've lost any and all interest. Especially since now they are writing wubstep metal.

Motley Crue - Actively dislike is a harsh way to put it, but there was a time where I thought hair metal was fun music. Especially the Crue. But after a while I realized how boring the music really sounds, and how it really didn't do anything for me.

Guns n Roses - Same thing, really. Fun for a while but wore off really fast on me.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Not a band, but Mike Portnoy.

All his whining, bitching and complaining since leaving DT has really, really soured my opinion and disposition for him! It's a shame because he's been a big influence on my drumming.

I'm probably going to hear cries of heresy for this but....The Eagles..

I went through a phase where I had all of their albums, and loved every one.   But I guess it's just because I realized that the music is boring, they are generally over rated, and definitely OVERPLAYED.  (If I hear Hotel California one more time, I'm going to *ACTIVELY* SHOOT THE RADIO!!)   Seriously...Hotel California has become worse than Stairway to Heaven (which was, at one time, the poster child of overplayed songs).

I suppose I still like some of the deeper album cuts, but when people ask I usually say that I "don't like" The Eagles.  (not *hate* or *can't stand*...just don't like)

Tragically Hip

right after Fully Completely...the band stopped doing what it had always done

small clubs, promote new songs give them a grass roots in your face club showing...then release the material. Instead they went big studio....and instead of being able to play a "Hip" album and know ever word to every song...you thought.."well...one of these songs is ok..the rest is just filler crap"
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

DragonForce  :\

Can't believe I forgot about this one! Dragonforce was my first concert unfortunately.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

Queensryche. Though I am admittedly the oddball since I started actively disliking them a lot earlier than most.

Yeah, this.  I really used to be into hair metal, but I  like very little of it anymore.  Still have a soft spot for Dr. Feelgood, though, since it was the first album I owned.

I can't really listen to Adema anymore. They just don't sound good to me, but I wouldn't say I "actively" dislike them. Same with bands like Korn, Puddle Of Mudd and Drowning Pool. Maybe prog metal has just ruined other stuff for me. The Offspring are shit now, but I still love their earlier material.

There are plenty of bands I actively dislike without ever liking them first though.

I can only agree. I'm not the world's biggest PL fan. Didn't like it on release but can tolerate most of it now (but not the truly awful Disconnected), and some is even excellent. From then on I've not liked much-they are probably the only band I liked that I depise now.
Other bands I've not liked their recent output (Rush for example, and Marillion post Fish though that's changinng) but I don't feel the same resentment as I do to QR.

Amazingly, every band I was listening to until discovering Dream Theater, with the exception of Linkin Park and Alien Ant Farm (although they don't really count because they've been essentially broken up for that entire time).

What does actively disliking something mean?

Listening to a band even though you hate them while exercising.
