Help finding military history on individual
« on: December 29, 2011, 02:55:59 PM »
So my friend was talking about his great grandfather. He was a part of WWII, something to do with airplanes and possibly stationed in Japan. He wants desperately to know what his great grandfathers plane may have had on it for artwork. I thought it might be nice to be able to help him find this information, especially since he is going through a really rough time right now. I know his grandfather's name, but I'm not sure how I could possibly find out more information.

Thoughts, suggestions, help please?

My suggestion would be calling up your local veteran's office and ask about historical records. I'm sure there's a central repository.

I didn't even think of that... I see someone listed as "Public Information Officer - Legislative Liaison", might possibly a good person to start with?

Holy yikes there is a lot of people listed here...
