Pretty good specs, although only 1Tb of storage?
Aside from that, very nice. Are you going to be overclocking the CPU? That's why most people get the K over the regular one (or have I got that the wrong way around. I don't think I do).

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

Awww yeah. My Novac Havoc 17.5T shit the bed. I don't race anymore and no longer have to follow rules, so I figured why not get something with balls.

Got an i5-2500k for myself,  and the younger brother of your MB.  Most of what I have now is recycled from my older computer, so it was just CPU/MOBO and DDR3.

I have a hard time keeping room on a 500gb system drive,  so buying a SSD is probably not worth it.  I might eventually buy an MSata and take advantage of HDD caching.

The i5 is by far the best price/power point right now.  I'm a big AMD fan,  but this destroys anything they have out right now,  and cost me far less than most of their entry level processors.  By getting it on Black Friday with a bundle discount,  it set me back $80.

That thing will rip a 22gb blu-ray 3D movie to MKV in about 45 minutes,  and leave enough headroom to still use my computer for other things.  And this is using XP.  I'm only getting neutered performance do to my disinterest in W7.

How fast are you running the I7 with that cooling block?

My dude that's a nice rig congratulations!  I've been thinking about upgrading my pc myself and doing my first "build" so to speak.  Mind if I PM you about it, I could definitely use some guidance.

I was a huge AMD fanboi till the flop that is Bulldozer. it was a shame :( im hoping they have better luck with Microsofts hot fix.

currently its stock. i havent gotten a chance to play around with any OCing yet. with the H80 people say they got it stable at 5Ghz. im probs going to get it to 4.5-4.7 and leave it.

Much nicer than my (lack of) cable management. Heck, mine is so bad that I've never been able to fit on either side panel. Ever. :lol
