What I loved on TV the past year.

Fringe
How I Met Your Mother
Covert Affairs
Louie
Justified
Wilfred
Supernatural
True Blood
Game Of Thrones
NCIS
Castle
Person Of Interest
Grimm
Prime Suspect
30 Rock

That's a lot of TV to be watching.

I'd like to share my immense love for the cancelled show Party Down (Starz). The reason for its cancellation can be seen in the stupidity of humans, because this show is amazingly funny, witty, and sexy. If it is put back on the air, I'll consider not destroying this world. But that won't happen, because it's too awesome for people to realize. Long live the Party Down team. Fuck Uda Bengt.

I love this show. My friend got mentor watch the first episode at like 11:00 one night..l I went home and stayed up until I finished bot seasons!

I'm still faithful to CSI after all these years (Vegas only, none of that NY or Miami crap).

But my favorite shows include Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, and Fringe.

Most comedies don't seem as important to me.  I mean, they can be funny, but very few comedies have seemed like GREAT TV to me.  Crappy ones are just awful, but even most of the good ones I can take or leave, if they get canceled it's no big deal, there will be another one.

hef, Ted Danson is great in the original CSI this year.  What a quirky character.

I still need to watch the rest of season 4 of Mad Men. I've got the series on blu-ray just sitting in my living room in Glasgow...

Out of curiosity, have you seen Arrested Development?

YES

Here's some of my favorites from this past year:
Breaking Fucking BAD (best TV show this year)
Game of Thrones
Community
Parks and Recreation
30 Rock (hit or miss sometimes, but rarely bad)
The Walking Dead (kinda slow, but rewarding)

Modern Family, The Office, Dexter, and True Blood all lost me this year. The Office is spinning its wheels in mediocrity, Modern Family just isn't as funny anymore, and Dexter had an absolute shit 5th season and the 6th didn't grab me at all.  I was never a big True Blood fan, but I (guiltily) enjoyed it, however, I've reached my limit for overall shittiness. Anna Paquin's boobs can only make up for so much dreck.

I need to start watching some Justified as I hear it's supposed to be good. Now that I'm done with my X Files rewatch, I can focus on catching up on some newer shows.

Now that I'm done with my X Files rewatch

I approve so much, X-Files is one of my favorite shows ever.

Probably my favorite show ever is Frisky Dingo, both because it's one of the funniest things ever and gets better after every watch, and because you can watch both seasons back to back in several hours, so it's super concise.

My other big favorites:

Doctor Who
X-Files
Archer
Arrested Development

I'm way behind (like a season or two) on True Blood, which is terrible but so deliciously graphic that I don't care. Dexter has completely taken a dive, though I'm still gonna follow it to see what happens considering the way this season ended.

OH and I started going through Six Feet Under for the first time on Jackie's recommendation, which I'm loving so far.

Yeah, it is really great and it holds up surprisingly well considering the first season was made back in 92/93.  However, that last season just... should not be. What a disappointing ending.

I'm of the opinion that the original version of The Office is the greatest comedy of any medium, ever.

But Arrested Development is close.

Finished season 5 of Burn Notice, all caught up and cannot wait for season 6 next year.

Next show to watch I think will be Breaking Bad, I've heard awesome things.

Truth my friend. My brother got Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD a few weeks ago, and we just finished watching Season 1 today, and watched the first disc of Season 2. It is just amazing. It took weeks to watch the first season because we kept re-watching episodes with other people because they were so good, and now we have a queue for who's going to borrow the discs because everyone loved the show so much.

Last year there was a new show on FX called Terriers which I thought was amazing, but unfortunately it didn't have enough viewers to warrant an extension.  I miss it.
