Waiting for ABC Family to make a drama about Best Buy employees competing for commission.

My girlfriend watches a show called Make It Or Break It. A show about gymnastics... The drama is so contrived it's nauseating. GYMNASTICS! Fuck, I hate TV.

Anyone planning on watching new show Thew River when it airs on Feb 7th? Here's the write-up from my local paper:

Quote
The River is a white-knuckle adventure ride: part nature series, part horror movie, part whodunit and all thriller.
The premise is simple: A popular wildlife expert and TV personality vanishes in the Amazon jungle, while making his ultimate TV documentary. Years later, with just a flicker of a signal from his emergency beacon to go by, his adventurer wife and reluctant 18-year-old son mount an expedition into Amazonia to find him. Their jungle river cruise soon turns into an odyssey of terror, and things that go bump in the night.

As a TV drama, The River is eye-filling, ambitious and - like Blair Witch Project - full of nasty jolts and surprises when least expected. Based on its first hour, it's the most engaging, exciting, downright entertaining TV thriller since Lost and 24's earlier, better seasons. (ABC, CTV Feb. 7)]

I'm definitely going to check that one out. I also watched the "sneak preview" of the new Kiefer Sutherland show Touch the other night and quite enjoyed it.

The River? bosk has his own show now?
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

One of television's most revered (if not the most) creators returns to television tonight: David Milch's new show, Luck, premieres with its first episode (and its second episode online) on HBO.

Just finished watching Spaced. What a great little show and highly recommended as it's on Netflix and only has 14 episodes.

I love Spaced. I caught a episode years ago on tv and got sucked in and watched every single one.

My top shows that are on today are as fallow (no order):

A Game of Thrones
The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margret
Once Upon A Time
The Big Bang Theory

Im actually surprised "Once Upon A Time" hasnt been mentioned in this thread so far. Have none of you seen it? its actually really well written and a new storyline.

Also Todd Margret is probably the most ridiculous show i have ever seen in my life. David Cross and Will Arnett are absolutly ridiculous  :rollin

Just sent this to WBshop.com:

I just wanted to let you know how shitty your packaging was for my order, but I guess you already knew that. Was there a new hire and he/she just forgot the padding/bubble wrap, or does WBshop.com just not give a fuck? Do you really think an over sized bag is acceptable packing material for, well, anything? The products fell out of the bag when the UPS guy delivered them to me. If that happened during transit and they were lost, you probably wouldn't compensate for the loss. Luckily nothing was damaged though. Needless to say, I wont be ordering from WBshop.com again. You seemed to have lost my e-mail/log in information anyway...

So, apparently, there's some controversy floating about over this new Mad Men poster:

The reason people are offended? It reminds them of 9/11.

Seriously, some people need to get a fucking grip. This is even more retarded than that whole Dubai Pepsi can design thing that happened last month where people thought it looked like 9/11.

I'm so sick and tired of the wild-west theme I guess. Not for me; the bland, predictable, overdone cowboys and dirty-things-that-make-our-show-oh-so-gritty layout. I completely comprehend that you've got some quick-draw McGraw mofos and you rape women and ride ponies, that's fucking brilliant... Now if you'll excuse me I'm going to go watch something that hasn't been done ten times over. Oh wait...

Okay so I stopped watching after four episodes so maybe I missed something by not giving it too much of a chance but the wild-west is just...meh to me. Agree to defunct. Maybe I'll give it more of a chance, maybe not. Anything with cowboys just tends to turn me off but I've heard such good things about the show that I figured I'd give it a go. Turns out I detest cowboys more than I thought. Now where's my five pennies?

ed: I guess it's noteworthy to say that I love Justified, which has a bit of that theme to it. So maybe it's just a bit too much for me, not my style. I like the acting of Deadwood, production is great, it's just the premise and story I don't relate to; and when that happens no amount of badassery or flashiness will save it.

I can't wait for Game of Thrones to start up again.

And yes, this. I miss my badass midget friend.

Deadwood has some of the best dialogue ever committed to film.  It's a slow series though and it's much less about being badass in the wild west than you'd think.

At least watch the episode with Mr. Wu.  If you don't laugh, then there's something seriously wrong with you.

Oh, there are many things seriously wrong with me.

Buuuut hey, I'll give it a shot one day. My dad was actually watching it all today and asked me if I had watched it (said pretty much what I said here) and he shrugged and said he loves it... that says a lot for me; the mans like Rotten Tomatoes personified. Hm. Maybe I just need to accept cowboys more. Cowboys...cowboys... Maybe I should listen to Guinea Pig's snobby TV-ass.  :P :-*
