I often hear the As I Am chorus as "I won't change your bitter plan/Take me as I am"
In the heart of your most solemn barren night
When your souls turn inside out
Have you questioned all the madness you invite?
What your life is all about

Maybe this has already been mentioned, but there are a handful of misheard lyric videos on YouTube (probably pretty close to ten years old now) that I think are hilarious.  The one that stands out has the part right before the instrumental section as:

"And still life pushes on
With or with a Jew
We've got to carry on
A whale will guide us to
A place where we belong"
"There's a bass solo in a song called Metropolis where I do a bass solo."  John Myung

I often hear the As I Am chorus as "I won't change your bitter plan/Take me as I am"
I first heard:
Take me as a yam

I heard Constant Motion today and ten years ago when I first heard it, I had to rewind it because I heard
"Fuckers here, fuckers there"
Instead of Focus here, focus there
God have mercy on a man
Who doubts what he's sure of.

Today was the first time I figured out that it's "Familiar settings, nothing new", and not

Familiar said, it's nothing new

What a strange choice of words that would've been.

My sister thinks the lyric to that Astonishing song is "Mom and Dad Betrayel."

Guys, I'm not even English-speaking from Birth and I've had no problems understanding that part on the sample. Buy yourselves a pair of ears!

When Moment of Betrayal first dropped, I thought one of the lines was "he will be the faceless" :lol
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

The actual lyrics for Lines in the sand

We fabricate our demons
Invite them into our homes
Have supper with the aliens
And fight the war alone

For years now I heard the last two lines as:

You're surfing with the alien
and fight the war at home

This may be really gross, but in "Innocence Faded" at 2:10 the first time I did a double take as I thought I heard:

Wearing out pathetic displays,
Sharing Fleshlight envy in cages
cum descending
nut extending to head.

"Don't be afraid of lego!"

Jordan took Moore's boring, pedestrian parts and elevated them considerably to take them from barely palatable to stellar.

I might have already posted this in ages past, but it never gets old for me:

Not misheard, but rather misinterpreted: In ACoS, some might interpret "My sun's not so bright" as "my son's not so bright."  Never not funny to me.

You reminded me of one I had with ACoS: "In a self-caressing need, I never felt so young before" hehe

Why does he say 'talking to his chin' though  :lol Usually misheard lyrics are good for a laugh but I struggle to ignore that 'ch' sound

Erm. Well. This is embarrassing. If someone had asked me what those two lines were, I'd have said exactly what you heard :lol

"Overwhelmed by this complex delirium"

I never understood the lyrics, so I thought he might be saying 'Overwhelmed by this Octavarium" even though it clearly doesn't sound like that  :lol Would've been a cool titular line

Barstool Warrior:

"Sits a local barstool warrior
Talking to his chin"

Absolutely this. I've heard it three times out of three on a plane (so no access to lyrics), and I ended up thinking it was some kind of English language idiom.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

The real meaning behind that oddly phrased lyric is "Overwhelmed by this Complex Delirium" makes the acronym of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

I didn't figure that out on my own, but I realized it from a comment I saw a while ago & thought it'd be interesting to share.

That's what I hear too. I initially thought we were getting an Iron-Maiden-esque historical piece.

Anybody has any misheard lyrics from the new album?

Not from A View, but I was listening to AWE, and on the second verse, where it says "Fear breeds the hate and your apathy", my nephew thought it said "Febreze your hand"  :lol
