Some from TA:

"My brother Gabriel is all the hope we giiiiiiive..."

"I'll plan to return well disguised
Make sure that I'm not recognized
To mow your single eyes"

"Through crowded streets
This quiet hooded stranger makes her... move"

Scottjf8

Am I the only one who thought, in TDEN, he said "The ultimate god of a rotting creation" I thought he said "erotic creation."

Evai

Nope, but I'm the only one who thought he said "And fight for the vanishing" instead of "And frightfully vanishing"

...wait, that's not the lyric? That's what I thought it was for years. I thought it was weird because I never really associated Gnarly Thot Step with any sort of eroticism or sexuality or anything like that but I just chalked it up to a "Lovecraftism" or something like that. Rotting creation makes slightly more sense, even though "ultimate god of a rotting creation" sounds like it was pulled from Death Metal Mad Libs LyricsTM.

Aside from that, "ever deadly suicide" (instead of "evidently suicide") from Beyond This Life and "with nothing for feel" (instead of "nothing fulfilled") from A Change of Seasons.

"Victoria watches and hopefully smiles" :D

Pragmaticcircus

"Trapped inside this new millennium, Trapped inside this new millennium"

How many times must I Live out this nightmare, I Can't wait until Octavarium"

:mehlin

Pragmaticcircus

"To the devil I command, take me as I am"

Fritzinger

Hope this hasn't been mentioned already

"A grass erection
for the farting man"

Evai

Untie these strings, I'm climbing down!
I won't let them push me around!

My mind tends to expect things that rhyme  :lol

For a fallen man"

In ANTR, I always here it as "It's a miracle he lived, it's depressing no one died"

Speaking of ANTR:
A flawless new bikini
Eclipsed by tragedy

TGOM:

I still hear it like this   :millahhhh

"we are living day to day, forced to beg and lie in shit"

Evai

On that note, I will forever hear "Shit your light on me! (Shit your light on me)" . The Bigger Picture is forever unlistenable

Holy hell you're right, now I won't ever be able to hear shed again

genome

Build Me Up, Break Me Down:

"You crave my erotic behaviour"

zappafrank2112

Wouldn't be surprised if this has been mentioned somewhere deep in this thread, and it's really not a case of misheard as it is misinterpreted, but I can't not hear James sing "My sun's not so bright" from ACoS without thinking, "somewhere out there is someone who thinks James is singing 'My SON's not so bright.'"

Evai

'I've got a son, I've got a wife...'

'But my sons not so bright!'

Another idea for a DT parody vid I'll never make  ;D

LCArenas

In Beneath the Surface:
"Tired bones beneath a veil, of guarded secrets all too frail"
I always heard it as
"Tired bones beneath the veil, of guarded secrets of two friends"

Which always prompted me to think the song was about Mike Portnoy.

My personal best for hearing something completely wrong was the first time I heard "Forsaken".

I got Systematic Chaos from Best Buy, got home, threw the disc straight into the player without reading the booklet or anything and let it go as I was cleaning the room I was in.

The first time I heard the chorus I thought they were saying "For Satan!".  I was like WTF, am I hearing that right??  Then I opened up the booklet.

Oh right, it's "Forsaken".....hah.

BeardedGentlemanHistorian

"I'll take seven lives for one
And then my only father's son
As sure as I ever did love him
I am not afraid"

What I heard the first time I heard the song:
"I'll take seven lives for one
And then my only father's son
As sure as I ever did love him
I am not a freak"

BeardedGentlemanHistorian

The first time I heard lost Not Forgotten I thought James said, "An 'effin novel no one's read".

?

Just listened to The Glass Prison today:

Correct: "Blackout, loss of control"
Misheard: "I've got no birth control"

It's funnier when you listen to the song and realise it's not a misheard lyric... He is actually saying chair, not 'yeah'  :lol

Nah..

SystematicThought

Got one from Once in a Livetime, from Just Let Me Breathe. Maybe this has been mentioned, but right when the song starts, JLB says something to pump up the crowd, but whenever I hear it, all I hear is:

"All right, Aunt Patty, let me see the hands in the air. Let's start having a good time here tonight."

SuperTaco
