This is my favorite part of Don't Look Past Me, but honestly, the first few times I heard it, I could not understand what the hell he was singing to save my life. This is what I heard for the longest time:

"I don't need 1000 reasons
when someone starts to cry,
when someone says my heart needs lifting,
then it's called home
it's called hoooome!"
"How's that for a slice of fried gold?"

I was about to correct you on those lyrics before remembering what thread this is. :rollin

For the longest time my girlfriend thought the words "Hellish dream" from TDEN were, "Hairless dream".

That isn't the lyrics? I honestly have no idea what he's saying there if that's not it.

Last night I was listening to a cover of a DT song on YouTube.  I think it was "As I Am," but at any  rate, the singer was Swedish, and I'm pretty sure (despite some 'Dos for Those type pronunciations) that I understood him more clearly than JLB.   ;D

A minor one, but in BMUBMD, I always hear the line "Your iconic fixation" as "You're a chronic fixation."

:rollin I used to think it was "for us all depraved", which enunciation-wise is similar.

This could be unique to the boot I'm listening to (2010-7-10, non GDT source with a bit of EQ), but:

Home: "Sorrow, Eternity, potatoes are coming to droooowwwwwwn me"
"I raised the baby, I changed the baby's diapers.  Whenever the baby had projectile diarrhea, I was there in the line of fire.  I even got a little in my mouth!  I sacrificed so much for my baby.  Now my baby hates me and thinks Mike Mangini is its real father!"

At the beggining of OTBOA, 0:02, I really don't know if it's an effect or what, but I ALWAYS listen to some shriek ridiculous voice saying "always could be you, oh" repeatedly. I fucking hate that I hear this  :lol . Still love the song though.

Try listening to it again, most people hear "Scooby Dooby Doo!"

:rollin Cannot be unheard. I'm glad JLB didn't get kicked out of the band for that. :hat

Also, I thought it was "forgive our arrogance?"

For the longest time I thought the "Build! Me! Up!" part after the chorus of BMUBMD was just "Burn! Burn! Burn!"  :\ Idk

God I'm high I'm a steak is gold

From Pull Me Under "I'll take seven lives for one, and then my only father's son"
I hear "I'll take seven ass for one, and then my only foreign son"

"All I can feel is honor and spite, all I can do is set it right"
I hear "All I can feel is order and spite, all I can do is celebrate!"
"Now I'm not one to soon forget
And I bet I never will...

From ACoS.
Original: "Viciousness and subtlety"
I heard: "Viciousness and solitude" (I have no idea)

Original: "With nothing fulfilled"
I heard: "With nothing for feel"

Original: "Utopia high in the sky"
I heard: "You took me up high in the sky"

From HTF
Original: "How can you ever sleep a wink at night"
I heard: "How can you ever sleep awake at night" (This made no sense to me)

Original: "Chauvinistic, heartless, selfish, cold"
I heard: "Show them his stick, heartless, selfish, CONE"

From TLG
Original: "I would not expect you felt alone in standing north"
I heard: "I would not expect you failed to notice standing Nord"

From IT
Original: "You'll never know that you're alive"
I heard: "You'll never know the jouren life" (I though he just mispronounced "joy in"...)

And obviously the ones from Voices...
I feel strangely honored to be following up a post from Sir Walrus Cauliflower.
