Misheard DT Lyrics
« on: December 20, 2011, 01:20:31 PM »
I was wondering if you guys have any funny misheard Dream Theater lyrics. I have heard two but can't think of any other. My misheard lyrics are these:

In the Presence of Enemies Part 1:    Real: "Redemption for humanity"
Misheard as: "Redemption for you manatee"

This Dying Soul:                                  Real: "Let your ego go"
Misheard as: "Let your nigger go"

Last one might be a bit offensive but that's what I thought it sounded like...

So do you guys have any?

"Day after day
And night after night
Replaying the events
Did they ever see the red light?
Over and over
Scene by scene
Like a recurring nightmare
Haunting my dreams

How can you prepare
For what would happen next?
No son should ever
have to see his father such a mess
It's a miracle he lived
It's a blessing no one died
By the grace of god above
Everyone survived"

DT has a lot of racist lyrics:

"Don't let a Dego by"

"I walk beside Jew"

It's not funny, but I heard "I don't know why our country is so uptight," and "I don't know why our country is reeling," in Panic Attack for the best part of a year. After six months or so I knew it was wrong, but could never remember what the actual lyrics were 'cause "our country" was printed so firmly into my mind.

There's also "I wither and run to my self-help class," but I don't remember if I misheard that or made that up.

Under a Glass Moon is one of my favorite songs.  I know the line is ‘I argue with the clouds stealing beauty from my eyes.’  But to this day, whenever I listen to the studio version, it still sounds to me like he says ‘stealing beauty from my ass.’  As far as I know, I'm the only one who hears this, though.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

In the Presence of Enemies Part 1:    Real: "Redemption for humanity"
Misheard as: "Redemption for you manatee"
:lol  I came in to post 'Redemption for a huge manatee'

Well, I never actually thought that's what the line was, but I always think of it when I hear the song  ;D

Metropolis:

misheard:
"As a man my doggies have caught up with me"

actual:
"As a man I've found it's all caught up with me"

The great ascent to reach Ohio State.

There are a million of them, and I forget almost all of them, however, the full line in Voices is 'fuck this whore, drink a troll.'
