Gotta say, I agree with Rob (and welcome back to him, too!). This thing is looking more and more like it's as sad as it ever looked like it might be on MP's end. What's most telling, I think, is that every time he says something new I noticed someone here who had defended him previously suddenly losing their patience.

Mike's big mistake, in my opinion, was/is is assumption that he is DT; that, like DT, he can do whatever he wants and go off the deep end if need be and his hardcore fans will stick by him. But that assumption is/was wrong, because the fans like DREAM THEATER way more than they like just one member. That is why ADTOE was such a hit with fans, and that is why over the past two years fans have been tearing Mike up at worst and scratching their heads at him at best.

Eek... the Portnoy PR is not getting any better...

...Mike Portnoy's christmas gift this year will be a trailer for A DRUMatic Turn of Events, where he sits around throwing Dream Theater branded drumsticks at his hi-hat in time to On the Backs of Angels, silently weeping.

It's not hard at all, people just don't know how to use it.

.. meaning that things like this get completely misinterpreted unfortunately. *sigh*

You do know that retweeting something is basically agreeing with it, right?
Not always.

It did amuse me that Rudess retweeted it (that's not to say I agreed with it). I have to say, I loved Rudess's version (and let's face it, Moore's version would not have worked as just a duet), so I'm thankful for both him playing it and Tj putting it up. It's sad that such comments are made, and quite frankly, I'd be more excited to see Portnoy guesting on a Rudess album, as that could potentially work really well.

Oh, and Steven Wilson guesting on more Rudess albums too. That'd be awesome.
This is as exciting as superluminal neutrinos. The sexy thing is that this actually exists :D

And why has nobody yet lingered on the fact that MP himself retweeted it in the first place? So, to attack our former band members we're going to suggest that the current keyboardist is not as good as Kevin Moore?
Yeah, unless I'm mistaking (which I'm not), MP used to talk more shit about Kev-Mo than anyone else around.
