So call me crazy, but the more I look into it, the more I'm becoming interested in going on a guided holiday to North Korea someday.
About 3000 Westerners visited the country last year, and it seems as long as you behave yourself, stick with your guides, don't insult any of the leaders, the state etc, you're quite safe.
I realise it's not the sort of holiday where I can relax and do what I please (although it does look like there are some nice natural spots which you can visit as well as the typical Pyongyang and North/South border), and that the "real" North Korea is always going to be kept at a distance from me, but a part of me wants to experience that, the control and the facade, and see how much I could gather despite all of their efforts to conceal it. The experience must be very unique.
At this point, I'm more hesitant about it not because of safety issues, but because I would essentially be funding the regime.
