I mean, this is really the turning point in the last two seasons. I'm really shocked and impressed.

On a related note, the zombie scene was brilliant.

It's amazing that after almost 7 seasons this show didn't turn into late X-Files kind of crap - they still have loads of good (albeit sometimes weird and risky) ideas and there's still a lot of solid writing going on. I'm impressed.

I hear you. I look back at the first three seasons and see a brilliant show. I look at 4th to 7th seasons and see a show that has matured, had lots of character development and still manages to be witty, interesting and heart-grabbing. My favorite TV show, easily.

EDIT: Risks are what are making this such a nice TV show. Without risks, it would easily fall into monotony.

I liked them. I saw it as the writers having some fun and not taking themselves too seriously. I liked the episode for what it is, enjoyed the ride and had a few good laughs in between.

That was a great episode. I liked most of the dream bits, and as much as I dreaded the musical part, I was weirdly surprised. It could have been way worse.

I wonder how the downward spiral will progress now, though.

I hope something unexpected happens between now and the season finale. If this just turns into "House is hooked on Vicodin" again I think I'd be annoyed that seven seasons in and the only thing to essentially have changed on the show from the first season would be House's team

I'm pretty sure this season ending's going to be a big shocker as well (as have been the last 6 House season endings)

The whole thing got me very sad, but I'm glad the writers took some big risks and gave the series another big turn. One of the many reasons I love the show so much is that I don't know what's going to happen next.
