I just realized I've had my Skype account for 13 years now. And I didn't use it whatsoever in those 12 years, only to resurrect it for my trip and use it extensively. My handle (maralf1) still harks backs to the days when I was an exchange student in Israel and the group of Europeans I was hanging out with called our field of study "Master of Alcohol" (thus the "ma").

I am sure people here can beat me with older accounts.

I think my gamespy account is like 10 or 12 years old, though I haven't used it at all in ages.

Before that, I refused to make accounts online out of fear of being trolled by people.

I keep a hotmail account open that I've had since 1998. Still have an email from 2000 in it just for shits and giggles.

It's a bummer that German universities don't do it like American ones in that you keep your email address after leaving. That was truly my first online account and would be something like 15 or 16 years old now.

I still have my first AOL account from when we first got internet in 96 or 97. That said, I haven't gone on it or AOL in probably 10 years.

Aside from that, I've been a registered member on a Star Wars forum (lucasforums) since 2002. It used to be a flourishing community, but now it is pretty dead. There are still a few regulars that post and I check in now and then. I think the earliest forum I joined was sometime in 2001, but one of them reset their user database and shit awhile ago (it was some Zelda forum... still around, but I can't remember which one).

And, funny enough, I've used "ZBomber" as my internet alias ever since that Zelda forum. So I guess this is the 10th year anniversary of my user name.

I've changed email accounts too many times to keep track of. My oldest online account is probably at eBay, with amazon.com being second.

Just checked, first eBay purchase was April 2000. I think it was an N64.

Hmm, I don't know if it is still in existence, but it had to be an AOL/AIM account...I don't even know what the first screen name I had was then. Pretty sure it was WWF (WWE now) related, and probably related to Scotty 2 Hotty

Edit: The oldest one I currently use has to be my Yahoo! account. Made it back in '03 or '04.

Oooh, I just realized that my OP is wrong. Skype has only been around since 2003, but I used the handle "maralf1" from my original AOL IM account. Gnah! Given that AIM was bought by Google recently, I guess that nullified my oldest account!!!

EDIT: Yeah, that's it. AIM has been around since 1997.

I still have an AOL account that I occasionally check email on (my mother is the only person who has not accepted the fact that I now use gmail and I also use it for some BS email subscriptions). I'm not sure when I created this particular screen name but I think we got AOL in 1999 or something. Oh man, those days... I remember my first name was Babyfogs85 or something like that

I had older, but the two I still use are eBay and Excite. I joined eBay in early 1998, but I know my Excite account is older. Not sure when I joined,, though, can't find anything on their page that indicates when.

I've had an AOL account since 98 or so, but I have no idea what the password is anymore. Since my parents still subscribe I would imagine it is still active. My handle here is also my AIM name, and I've had that since about 2002 or 2003.
