I'm just curious about the average age here.  Being 47 I think I am probably among the oldest people posting here, I get that impression especially in the General Discussion and Political and Religious sections.  This is purely curiosity on my part.  Comment if you want.   :biggrin:

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I think someone posted recently hinting they were in their 50s.  Can't remember who.  Otherwise, you're right... at 47, you're part of the 1%.  I think Ludwig and Orbert have you though.

Yeah, I get the impression (and the voting seems to be supporting this so far) that the crowd here is fairly young.  Mostly and under 30 crowd.  I like it.  Keeps me abreast of what's happening with my son's generation.  He's currently packing up his shit to GTFO of Iraq (US Navy - Military Police - he's gonna be 25 in Feb)

I was repeatedly referenced as 'sir' by a failry attractive....probably early 20's....waitress the last time I went out to eat. Not that I was out to pick up chicks or anything like that, I'm very happily married and wanted nothing other than my diner....and I'm sure she was being polite and what not to garner a better tip.....but hearing her address me as 'sir' a dozen times or so....and not any of her 'younger' clientel at nearby tables within hearing....it really drove home that indeed that is the big '4'-'0' I see making it's way onto the horizon.
