Round 1: Open. Quite a lot of electronica songs here... LOVE it! :yarr

4 points

Sonata - The Depreciation Guild - White Moth: So this is the band you're getting a boner to these days? Well I can understand why. At first I thought the song sounded "empty" but I realized it really was sadness.

3 points

Sigz - Daft Punk - The Grid (Crystal Method Remix): I'm a very casual Daft Punk fan so I let it pass. Now the music was great (expecially that bass drum... damn!) but the voice/sample kind of thew me a bit. Epic ending nonetheless.

4 points

Clairvoyant - Tomas Dvorak - Mr. Handagote: Pretty good song really. Nice electronic sounds and beats and whatnot. I'm not sure why I like it that much.. maybe the quality of the sounds. Great job on the mix here too.

2 points

Nekov - Marco Minnemann - Mr. Kempinski: This song was OK I guess but I feel like it never really progressed or like go anywhere. The drumming and the piano were good though.

5 points

Orcus - Maps - It Will Find You: Awesome electronica piece. The music was just fantastic, always switching and changing so it don't get boring. The production: WOW! Also I liked the vocals very much.

5 point

Raven - Sopor Aeternus & The Ensemble of Shadows - Do you know about the Water of Life?: Great song! Very creepy, very dark. The vocals worked very well and I loved the space in the mix. I'll have to check this band out, seriously...

Orcus: 5 points
Raven: 5 points
Sonata: 4 points
Clairvoyant: 4 points
Sigz: 3 points
Nekov: 2 points

Next round: COLORS. You know The Color Spectrum, by The Dear Hunter? Well this is a bit like that. I'll randomly PM a color to each participant and they'll have to send a song that fits the color!

:-[ I thought you would like that song. Anyways, I don't understand the new round. Do we have to pick a song that has that color anywhere in it or do i just send you a song that's related to the color you sent depending on how I feel about that color? Cause I got to tell you, the color you sent me is my least favorite one so this could be a disaster

Yeah, I wasn't sure how that'd be recieved. I'd totally recommend checking out the TRON Legacy OST though (my song was off of the remixed album, which is also awesome). It's way different than their normal house stuff and it's brilliant.

Round 2: COLOR.

5 points

Sigz - Dhal - Sagarmatha: Excellent pick! Sonic landscapes, electronic beats, soothing and desperate vocals. Sad and Blue.

3 points

Nekov - Eloy - Child Migration: Eh. It wasn't really my cup of tea, aside from some good bits here and there. However, the song did felt Orange to me so you get a bonus point! ;)

2 points

Sonata - Park Ave. - Lachrymose Obsequious Vehement Elated: The music was OK but I didn't really like the vocals at all. It wasn't really Purple too.

4 points

Raven - Emilie Simon - Sweet Blossom: Great mix of strings, electronic beats and female vocals. But aside from the lyrics, this song didn't sound Green to my ears.

5 points

Clairvoyant - Cursive - Art is Hard: Dude, yes. Very moving, energetic piece. The vocals production worked very well with the guitars. That was a Red song indeed.

3 point

Orcus - Beastie Boys - Car Thief: So that was pretty enjoyable! Very fitting with Yellow. It didn't wowed me or anything, just a nice, fun song.

Round 3: OST. Good round.

4 points

Zander - Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - Carbon Prevails (The Social Network OST): I've accepted the song since I've never actually heard what Trent did outside of NIN. This song was quite heavy but in an electronic way. I loved how it progressed in an usual way; it was hard to tell what would go next but nothing seemed out of place. Good pick.

4 points

Orcus - Clint Mansell - Welcome to the Lunar Industries (Moon OST): Hmm. Dark song, even creepy by moments. The strings near the end worked very well after a more "rocking" start. A thing I liked was the space there is on this track... there's place to breath and it's really important for this kind of music I think.

4 points

Sonata - Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts - Space Lion (Cowbow Bebop OST): I wasn't sure at first about the intro with the sax. But then when the song really started I was like fuck yeah. Funky percussions, weird vocals choir and whatnot. It was moving and peaceful.

3 points

Nekov - Mark Knopfler - The Mist Covered Mountains (Local Hero OST): Now that wasn't bad at all! Peaceful waves sound to kick things off, then the synth lead with the keys gave it a very serene tone. At the same time, it was like I kept waiting for something more to come... Still a nice song!

5 points

Sigz - Ed Harisson - Haka (Neotokyo OST): So that was pretty impressive. Especially the processed vocals lead melody thing going on. Great production/mix. The composition work is top-notch there. It kept going to different places while staying in that blue/sad state. Very nice.

3 point

Clairvoyant - Bruno Coulais - Fantastic Garden (Coraline OST): I really liked that jazzy-vibe with the ride cymbal going nuts and the bass line. The main thing is that it was too short. Now I don't have anything against short songs but here I felt like it was cut short or something. Which is unfortunate because I really liked what was going on!

Raven: 13 points
Sigz: 13 points
Clairvoyant: 12 points
Orcus: 12 points
Sonata: 10 points
Nekov: 8 points

Next round: Last time I did a roulette one of the rounds was to send some weird/strange songs. You know I like the mindfuck. Bring it on.

Yeah, that's probably because it segues into another song.  I was considering sending the song it went into as well, but I didn't want to be the jackass that sent two songs instead of one.  I probably should have, it seems.

That's the problem with most OST. Some songs sounds like they're chopped down to fit.
