William Shatner
« on: November 24, 2011, 01:28:01 AM »
It has been maintained that I don't like music, so I figured I'd start a thread pushing an album most people have probably not listened to. It's Bill Shatner's "Has Been", and is a surprisingly good album! I had given it to my roommate as a kind of joke for Christmas, but we were both surprised how listenable it was.

Here a song I like for example, "It hasn't happened yet":

The album was written and produced by Ben Folds.  That's why it sounds so good.

Plus look at some of the quality musicians that played on the album.

Joe Jackson (on a cover of Pulp's "Common People")
Aimee Mann (backup vocals on "That's Me Trying"), Lemon Jelly (on "Together")
Henry Rollins and Adrian Belew (on "I Can't Get Behind That")
Brad Paisley (on "Real", which he wrote specifically for Shatner).
I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down'.” - Bob Newhart
So wait, we're spelling it wrong and king is spelling it right? What is going on here? :lol -- BlobVanDam

That's not Avery Brooks on the Piano?  :'(

Actually, could you imagine a Star Trek band?  Brent Spiner on the violin, Avery Brooks on piano, Patrick Stewart on the flute, Nicole DeBoer on some instrument (I'm sure one of Dax's past hosts played some kind of instrument...), Johnathan Frakes on Trombone, and Scott Bakula on vocals.  That might be the coolest thing ever.

I of course have to post the classic :lol

edit: couldn't find a big version that doesn't crop off Uhura. :(
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I was just messing with you runny.  But that is a decent album.  I have it as well.
