I don't have any particular word that makes me want to ignore a song, but if there's lots of swearing in the song, it shows how unimaginative the lyricist is (IMO). I can tolerate cliché lyrics but if the lyrics are simply bad, they can take away my enjoyment of the song.
Rhyming "changing" with "re-arranging".

Or "California" with "warn ya".

Gonna add "disaster" and "faster"... looking at you, John...
Don't forget "fire" and "desire"! ;D

The only other song I know that uses the word whiskey is Whiskey In The Jar (Metallica), and that's a good song. :tup

Listen to some Fair to Midland!

(Whiskey & Ritalin)

I love that song, but the lyrics are so uncomprehensable to me I couldn't tell you where he actually says that word in the song.
I feel like that song, even compared to the rest of songs on the record has a the vocals down a little too low in the mix.

When I mentioned Whiskey as a potentially bad lyric I was thinking more of unspecific Classic Rock and Country tunes
Ludicrously speedy or infectious with the slow-mo

Lately in pop music rhyming swagger with Jagger has become popular.

And it makes me want to punch polar bears in the nuts.  :censored

"Honky-tonk". Never heard a song that didn't trigger my gag reflex which had that word in it.

Any other words?

So, not a fan of "Honky Tonk Woman" then?

What I'd love to see would be someone rhyming Nick Jagger with 'nagger'

There are exceptions, but songs that explicitly sing about loving rock, rock'n'roll or metal are generally shite. So if the genre name is mentioned in a "god, we love that sort of music" way, then it's almost certainly gonna be a bad song.

Also, leather, leather jackets, motorbikes, fast cars, etc... bikie/petrolhead songs are by and large garbage.

Rob Halford would like a few words with you.

And Joey DeMaio wants to kill you.

But honestly, there are no songs about how much Musician X loves football (actually, I have heard one or two of those, and they were so lame, my ears wanted to tear themselves free of my head and kill themselves to death), or game hunting, or bird watching, or stamp collecting. I don't have to hear about any of those other hobbies and likes, so why do I have to hear about how much Musician X loves his fast car, or how rock and roll is the sound of prison cells flying open in my soul and setting me free?

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Anyone who refers to themselves in a song, but it's worse when they do it in the 3rd person...

Sultans of Swing is awesome.

The guitar solos and chord progressions in that song are amazing.    I'm not even much of a fan of Dire Straights, but that song belongs in the Hall of Fame or something.

As for the subject of the thread, yeah, I'm probably going to ignore anything with gratuitous ethnic or racial slurs, but as always it depends on the context.

Honky-tonk for sure. Also referring to rednecks in any positive way pretty much means it's going to be a crappy song.

I really can't think of any.  "Fanny," maybe?

Seems kind of silly to me, ignoring a song based on a word.
This.
