Do you think Democracy is still king or would you be for a change in government philosophy?

I'm a fan.

A mechanism to remove poor leadership (regardless of how it is utilized) makes it preferable to any kind of autocracy.

Democracy is good.

Abuse of a democratic system to better one's own prospects at the expense of the majority can be rather deplorable, though.

This certainly can be discussed as a serious topic, but the punchline is only being given one real option.

This, and pure Democracy is seldom a viable form of government.  Most democratic societies run a Republic, mitigated mob rule.

It is about as good as we have achieved as a species.  I certainly wouldn't want to be under other forms of government we commonly know, but we should challenge all governmental form and always be trying to find better systems.

The masses isn't cut out for self rule.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

Democratic republic. It needs to be a balance of both mass rule and aristocratic rule; neither in absolute is good.

If you ask me, is popular sovereignty good, I would say yes (and I would also say that more or less how things are, even under a Monarch). Popular sovereignty comes from the people, every individual, so in that sense is radically democratic. Government should strive to be this, and make itself as democratic as possible. The actual rulers in the country will be the Representatives, but that's why we make them responsible to the people. On a local level, government can be much more democratic than at a national level

And that whole Churchill quote, democracies sucks, but it's the best option we have.
