So I wrote this riff, and it kinda sounds like the main riff in BITS..

Do you think it sounds too much like the BITS riff? Cause I'm not sure what to think. I'd be seriously bummed if you guys think it's a rip off of it, cause I really dig this riff and I'd like to be able to use it in a song. Lemme know what you think. Also, read the video description. (excuse the shitty recording - I recorded it on my phone)

Keep in mind, if I used it in a song, there would be a different drum beat and stuff than there is in Bridges, so it would definitely not sound like a rip off.

And finally, it was written on a seven string guitar just like Bridges is played on, so that could be partly why it sounds similar.

Okay thanks! I'm pretty relieved. If you play guitar and write music, you totally know how awful it feels when you realize something you wrote that you thought was awesome turned out to be someone elses song that you just remembered subconsciously.

Yeah, I can see that being a problem. It can be hard to be original sometimes, but that riff is fine. Now, put it in a song

I've done that way too many times.  But anyway, cool stuff!  Definitely like the little fills you add to it, they certainly give it a nice flavor.
