It's funny, I started playing Skyrim again at the beginning of February (and already have a lv 50 character...) because I was excited for the expansions, and so far I've done next to nothing in them yet. All things in time though...

Added a pair of mods today. One completely activates the keyboard alongside the 360 controller. The other gives upwards of 72 extra hotkeys. The latter is awesome, as it gives you all of the F-keys, as well as all modifiers on the left and right side of the keyboard. It also keeps track of default left/right handedness, which is a plus to me. In my case it'll always start with defensive stuff in the left and and weapons/offensive spells in the right.

See I played the game for around 3 - 4 months last year and only ever got to a level 35 character :/

Mind you, I'm a questing person, so I generally don't level that often

Well then, suppose I should actually start collecting books.

I did purchase land in Falkreath and have started building up my home.

Is there any point to collecting the books, other than being a completionist?

On one of the Black book quests you can choose a power were you can spawn in a carrier for you, can't remember the name. That could be handy.

Sorry for the double post, but has anyone elses child seemed to have vanished? I adopted Sofie and I like to think I've been a good mother to her, but I ploughed through the Civil War quest line and now she's vanished. No ransom note (because I know that happens), my Steward, Thane, Bard, and Husband are all perfectly in tact, it just seems that's she's vanished.

I've tried using console commands to get her back to me, specifically 'moveto player' and 'player.moveto' but it doesn't seem to work, because I can't figure out how to input the id correctly- player.placeatme worked, but it didn't let me talk to her.

If you have a savegame from a point where the kiddo was still around, load that to ascertain her object ID. Then reload back to your current point and player.moveto [object ID] should work.

I still get goosebumps from the first gameplay trailer of Skyrim:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0

and I find myself still amazed by the scope of this game because i still find new quests and stuff to explore everytime i play.

I found my kid. Little cow ran off to Windhelm, I turn up there to start buying a house, she runs up to me, 'Mama, mama, you're back! Can I have some pocket money?'

Moral of the story- Don't have kids.

Man, this really is one buggy-ass game. Given the scope of the whole thing, I'm willing to cut them some slack that things don't always work as planned, but a couple of them are just damned annoying. For one thing, I don't think my wife and kids have ever even met each other, since there's no way to get them both in the same house at the same time. Also, I'd love to have a bad-ass mage chick as a follower since higher level necromancers tend to kick Lydia's ass, but the Illia bug makes that fairly difficult. I thought I'd wrapped that up by making her the steward at Lakeview, which means that if you cut her loose she returns their, but now the follow me option seems to have vanished altogether.

I've got one last strategy to resolve the family thing. I figure if I divorce the old lady, I can then tell the kids to move to Solitude. Then I can remarry her and have her move there, as well. If that doesn't work, then I'm taking the lot of them out to the woods to Kaiser Soze their silly asses.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.
