Compared to Skyrim, Oblivion feels lifeless, and I feel the main culprit is the combat. In Skyrim you feel the impact of your hits and vice versa, where as Oblivion it felt like my character lurched and randomly swung after I'd hit the combat button.

Don't try Morrowind then. Combat is awful in that game. :lol

With each Elder Scrolls game (since Morrowind, never played any before that) they've only gotten better at doing combat.  I know people complained about/didn't like Skyrim's combat, but I really have no problems with it, but maybe that's just my perception being colored by the other ES games.  I know I sound like a broken record when I say that.

Oh yeah, Fallout was so much tighter and more complete than Oblivion. But Skyrim just blew Oblivion away. After playing Skyrim for some time, I did get a little bit nostalgic about Cyrodil's King Arthur vibe. But a few hours in and I just had to turn it off.

I preferred Oblivion for the Roman feel of the whole world.

Weird, I think Oblivion's melee combat is actually much more visceral than Skyrim's, while Skyrim has waaaay better ranged combat.  I also far prefer Cyrodil to Skyrim.  But aside from melee combat and setting, I think Skyrim blows Oblivion out of the water.

[Spoilers]

Level 11, finished the Companions storyline. I've killed three dragons so far. The first one that gets you the Thane title in Whiterun, a random encounter, and one dragon that was revived by another dragon.

I'm a redguard going with heavy armor and two-handed weapons. I have a nice set of steel armor (chestplace has 78 armor!!!) and a decent axe that does 48 damage. I've put all my perks into heavy and two-handed, but I've decided to throw some into smithing.

In the past I would blaze through games and try to finish the storyline, doing all the side stuff on a second playthrough. Now I'm taking my time and doing as much side stuff first as possible. I like having the extra levels and perks going into the fight.

When you join Facebook you willingly put yourself at that risk. If you're awesome, people should know. If you're pathetic, people should know.

I guess maybe it's just that no-one's really interested in seeing how stupid you think some of your friends are.

Also, don't you have like 123102982031 hours of school per day anyway?

The 76,000+ views of the pathetic Facebook status thread says otherwise.... And no. I only spend 10-13 hours a say at school.
