I'm having too much fun being the sneaky bastard I am. I don't want it ruined by upping the difficulty and then getting my ass handed to me. I think I have it set on normal right now. That's good enough.

Putting it on the highest difficulty is silly, it doesn't make the game harder, it just gives enemies more HP.

I'm contemplating finishing the dark brotherhood questline and then putting the game down for awhile. I'm level 57 and have done all of the other main quests and have unlocked most of the trophies. Haven't decided if I wanna spam my character's other skills to get to level 81, because some of them I will never use like alteration/archery for this character build.

It definitely does make the game harder.  Relative to Adept, you deal half as much damage (no increase in enemy HP) and receive twice as much damage.

You can unequip that ring if you don't want to eat people.

Currently Level 21 and LOVING the Thieves Guild quests.  I think I'm about halfway through that quest line and have no desire to go back to the main quest since Elder Knowledge was a pretty long part of that questline.  It's also nice to be able to take down enemies with one shot while in sneak mode. :metal

The 15x dagger attacks are quite awesome. Especially since you can hit particularly tough enemies twice before they catch on.

If you have the dagger perk it won't do as much damage though. Does the greatsword have a sneak cut scene? With the dagger you get some slit-throat animation which is cool.

Not really, unless you have the perk where you can decapitate peoples. :metal

There's really not a good sneak cut scene for the bow attacks either.

And if you sneak attack with the bow and shoot them in the knee they should live through the experience but confess they used to be a fighter like you, but not anymore.

Or, any bow, any arrow... take a hunting bow and some iron arrows, shoot anyone in the knee and hear them just go "Well, fuck this shit, I have to go see a doctor", and then they stop fighting and walk off.

Platinum trophy, bitches.  Nick can confirm.

Also, Nick sucks for beating the main campaign and having almost no other trophies.  Obviously he isn't playing the game right.

I did that with my first character. I've been playing a more free-style game with Kimmo Dragonen.

So I think I stored the Volsung Mask in one of the thieves guild chests in their training room, but they locked themselves back up, and my stuff isn't in there anymore. I'm pretty sure I didn't sell it, and I can't remember where else it could be. I check in my Breezehome, but nothing. Is there a way to re-obtain this?

If you play on PC, you can open the console and type "player.additem 00061CAB 1".

And the game still isn't hard even then.

Depends entirely on what kind of character you play, who you're fighting, and what level you are...  Go take on a vampire den at lvl 10 as a melee character on master difficulty and tell me it isn't hard.

Well, on master you just need to think about what you're doing more-so than on adept. I prefer adept, for now, until I find the perfect balance/amount of mods that make the game seem *right* to me. Then, I'll do master difficulty again.

Still playing this game here and there.  I'm getting a Microsoft wireless receiver for the Xbox 360 controller so I can play this on my PC with a gamepad.  Since keyboard + mouse isn't that necessary in this game unless you play a mage, I figure it would be nice to relax on the couch.  Plus, my TV is an undemanding resolution (720p), so I can max out the graphics mods and still keep a constant 60+ FPS.

Went back to play a little bit of Oblivion too.  I wish Skyrim's melee combat was as good, and I prefer Cyrodil over Skyrim, but everything else is superior in Skyrim.
