If you want to level up conjuration, just cast soul trap on your horse. You could get it to 100 in one day if you honestly tried.

So I think I may have met my match. I'm doing the Hangover Nightmare to Remember or whatever quest where I'm retracing my steps after getting drunk and freaky all night and I'm trying to find Sam Whatshisface and his staff. I'm at that dungeon with a grip of mages in it, and there's this guy called a master elemancer or something like that that's fucking me up big time with these insane lightning bolts. What do? Probably just stock up on resist shock pots and give it another go or what?

pull out the big guns, stock up on pots, get a follower, etc
save then just go for it until it's dead

I had one pyromancer do that to me when I was playing. That bastard would kill me in 2 shots, and when I did manage to kill him, he had already killed my follower -.-

Try doing sneak attacks with your (assuming you have one) bow. Kill them all one at a time Xena style.

Sneak bow attacks are the shizniz but I'm not really going that route with this character. He's more of a charge in with 2h warhammer and smash in faces kind of guy, and I'm the sort of dork who likes to rp and stick to character concepts and what not. I've never used a follower before, maybe I'll go that route. Or maybe I'll just stop being a little bitch and do less whining and more face smashing.

I know some people who don't play this game like i think it should be played. They pretty much just go into cities and kill everyone. That's a part of the game, but there is so much more. I guess I'm more of an RP guy, want the full experience.

That's the beauty of Elder Scrolls games, there's so many different ways to approach the game so you should just do whatever's fun to you.

I usually do my murdering/rampaging right before shutting down after doing my last save of the night (see my post on the last page regarding my adventures in attempting to kill the Jarl of Whiterun and Irileth)

Started a Conjuration Archer the other day and I'm loving it. When your bound weapons have soul trap on them you never have to worry about buying expensive soul gems ever again.

I'm not gonna use smithing so I have to find all my daedric and dragon armours through clearing dungeons, found my first one yesterday (unenchanted Dragonplate cuirass) so I am very happy

Still on my first character about 100 hours, this game is going to last me for ages. Even better than Oblivion so far (though its no Morrowind).

I'm 100 hours into the game and I'm amazed that I haven't gotten bored of this game yet. Well, I've gotten bored with a few things, such as my two-handed specialist Hugar Hellingstone, but with my assassin and conjuration archer characters they game really screams "amazing" to me. My sword-and-board character is fun as well, but not nearly as much.

It took me 179 hours before I had to put it down. Now, with all these mods. bwahahahhaha!

... wouldn't you have to buy even more soul gems if the bow has soul trap on it?? Since you'd be running out of gems

Yeah but the petty gems are like 30g when they're empty as opposed to 120g. Besides, you find so many empty soul gems in your travels that I haven't had to worry yet.

Now that I have a better grasp on the game I'm contemplating starting a new character tonight. There is so much more to do with the old character yet, but I think it would be nice to start a game from scratch knowing what I'm doing.

The big thing is to not play through the main quest so quickly. It was such a struggle with a relatively weak character, and aside from the College quest which I did right afterward, everything else seems to come so easy. I want to just explore and do side quests while slowly completing the main quest.

Advice? Is it really worth it to start over?
