...And one of my managers said this game looks like shit to a costumer so they wouldn't buy it.

Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffffft, what a jackass he is anyway.

Let me guess, COD is more up to his speed.

I spent so much time downloading and tweaking mods and .ini files last night that by the time I was done, it was time for me to go to bed.   :'(

I played this game 30 years ago.

It was called Dungeons & Dragons.
Oh shit, you're right!

I love D&D, but it's such a pain in the ass to find a good group of players (not to mention only being able to play when everyone else can).

I didn't know it was possible for a video game to look this goddamn pretty.

I haven't really done much at all besides exploring.  I just can't get over how spectacular everything looks

And it looks significantly better after modding.

Anyone else spending way too much time doing miscellaneous quests, side quests, and pretty much everything else aside from the main story quests?
Yep, it took me 70 hours to finish the main quest because of this! :lol

I still haven't finished the main que- Ooh! I've discovered another cave!! :caffeine:

I'm at the point now where I don't even know what is part of the main quest and what isn't. I like to walk the map instead of fast travel, it helps build up my stats. However, I find that a trip across the map ends up taking like 3 days because I find so much cool shit along the way. Oh look, a new town, let me try and kill everyone.

Windhelm is a crappy looking city.

Not graphically speaking, of course.

I find all of the cities except for Solitude to be crappy looking. That took awhile to get used to in Skyrim.

I've only been to 5 or so but Markarth is pretty cool looking despite the confusing layout.

Yeah, Markarth is actually pretty nice, with the waterfalls and all. But yes, very confusing at first

Windhelm to me has a very confusing layout. I end up looking at the local map everytime I turn a corner.

As long as I can find my way to a blacksmith area in a town it's fine. Took fucking forever in Markarth though since they threw quests at me from left and right the first time.

As much as I like Skyrim, I have a few issues: Foremost, compared to New Vegas the game just isn't as "smart." For example, as you played New Vegas and fought alongside the NCR or the Legion (or otherwise) you actually felt like you were impacting the world as you recruited various factions to your cause and saw various bases cleared out of members of the opposing faction and replaced with your guys. If you wanted to rush into the opposing faction's camp and clear out the leader you could do that too-- even if it didn't have a HUGE impact on the game, it still was better than in Skyrim where you can beat Ulfrid within an inch of his life but are never permitted to actually go ahead and just kill him (before the final quest in the Civil War line).

The other thing is, I just haven't been able to settle on a character I like yet. I have one Nord guy, who's a Stormcloack, but after being disappointed with the Civil War quest I moved to a Mage-thief combo... which is just kinda a sucky combo, because Mage robes suck and people kill me pretty damn quickly.

Sigh. Guess it's time to try another build out!
