Use a Cure Disease Potion or visit a Shrine for healing.  After three days, you'll be a vampire.  Two ways to get rid of it after that:

1) Become a werewolf

2) Complete the Side Quest: Rising at Dawn (available by talking to a mage named Falion in Morthal)

Quote
Most of them only affect you when you transform into "beast form" which you can do once a day for 2.5 minutes of real time.  Bacong mentions the lack of rest bonus, so there's that.  Other than that, you can pretty much live as a werewolf and never use it and be resistant to all diseases in either form.

If you want to cure yourself, finish the Companions Questline and then you'll be able to complete the Radiant Quest: Purity.  Once that is completed, you'll be cured of Lycanthropy and will be unable to contract it again (as opposed to Vampirism which can be contracted multiple times).

Rest Bonuses lost as Werewolf.

Yeah, turns out I just had the illness, not fullblown vampirism. I am now, however, a Werewolf. Thanks for finding those posts though, man.

No problem.  I haven't checked the online Wiki's since I have the strategy guide, so if anyone has a question regarding something not found online, feel free to ask here and I'll most likely have an answer buried within the 656 tome in front of me.

Got my house almost completely decorated now (the one in Solitude), I really like it.
As I mentioned earlier, I married Ysolda so she's sitting around looking cute, giving me gold on a daily basis, which is never wrong. :)
I wish there was something more you could do with your partner though, it's a funny side-thing in the game, but a few more options would be cool I guess.

Not sure if all sell restoration spells, but these are all the traders that sell spell tomes:

Sybille - Solitude (Blue Palace)
Falion - Morthal (Falion's House)
Madena - Dawnstar (The White Hall)
Tolfdir - College of Winterhold
Phinis - College of Winterhold
Faralda - College of Winterhold
Drevis - College of Winterhold
Colette - College of Winterhold (Specifically sells Restoration spells, go here first)
Calcelmo - Markart (Understone Keep)
Farengar - Whiterun (Dragonsreach)
Wuunferth the Unliving - Windhelm (Palace of the Kings)
Wylandriah - Riften (Mistveil Keep)

This is so brilliant, especially as you know what's about to happen and you're just waiting for it. :lol

Anyway I'm not really rushing with the main quest, I got to Whiterun fairly quickly but I'm just doing all sorts of side quests now, lots of fun, really starting to get into the game.

Also, on the way back from one of said side quests, I ran into a couple of vampires. Fortunately I didn't get bitten and managed to kill them, but it was a bit of a scare!

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.
I be am boner inducing.

Downloaded the mod that lets you use more than 2GB of ram to play. Since I have 8, that mod was VERY important to me :D

I had been on low settings with some things set to medium and distances turned all the way down, but now I'm on high with everything and there's no problems (aside from my laptop getting kinda hot... but that happens anyway). Loving it!

Anyone else think Magic needs serious work? It feels so overpowered.

Playing on Master difficulty as a conjuration mage and at 100 conjuration you can have 2 Dremora Lords or Atronachs. Before I hit 100 I could just summon one and watch it kill everything. Now I summon both and literally go explore/look at stuff/throw the occasional fireball and wait for everything to be killed.

I've completed the Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, and the Stormcloaks. Don't want to do the College or the Companions at the moment, so I guess I'll be moving on to the main plot...unless the Bard's College is a decent questline? Anyone know?

Dunno about Conjuration, but from what I understand, Destruction is underpowered the higher you get.

My friend two shots giants with I think 60 destruction. He focused damage from fire and destroys most everything. He's not even high level yet, he's basically focused completely on destruction.

Alt character, but still.

Gave up on enchanting earlier this afternooon on my character, seeing how I only use magic as a secondary means of attack and primary restoration. Other than that, I hardly use it.

So instead I'm making nothing but iron daggers until I hit 100 smithing. Like everyone else ever.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

So I've been running around most of the game with this lovely staff that shoots arcing lightning bolts at infinite range and in a completely unrelated sidequest discovered the backstory behind it. And it wasn't until 2/3 of the way through the quest that I realized that the quest I was on and the staff I love using were related. Bravo, Bethesda.

Remember the two-handed axe I made? The one that hits for 218, yeah well my friend made two one-handed weapons that both hit for a good 260.

I have to top that.  >:(
