I've been spending the past hour or two fine tuning and tweaking SkrimPrefs.ini for maximum awesomeness, because I am a graphics whore ;D

The way the engine handles shadows is retarded, I hope it gets modified in upcoming patches, or modders find a workaround (currently, the further your shadow draw distance, the lower resolution shadows become, so with a high draw distance, they look like utter blocky shit up close).

Skyrim was taking over my life, I couldn't stop playing it.
I've had to get my family to change my steam password for the greater good.
I had better get good exam results for this.  :(

All I want to do is play Skyrim but I can't because I'm too busy. Might get in a couple of hours tonight, though. :D

So I haven't encounter any bug that pissed me off until this one now!! I've learned Dragonrend, so you know who I'm fighting next, and he DOESN'T TAKE ANY DAMAGE!!!!

EDIT: Had to back out all the way to the 360 Dashboard and then start the game up again for it to take damage.

Use a Cure Disease Potion or visit a Shrine for healing.  After three days, you'll be a vampire.  Two ways to get rid of it after that:

1) Become a werewolf

2) Complete the Side Quest: Rising at Dawn (available by talking to a mage named Falion in Morthal)

Option #2 is what i'll have to do (Any more info on the pros and cons of becoming a werewolf? That sounds fucking brutal). I didn't pay much attention to the warning signs of being a Vampire, unfortunately.

Most of them only affect you when you transform into "beast form" which you can do once a day for 2.5 minutes of real time.  Bacong mentions the lack of rest bonus, so there's that.  Other than that, you can pretty much live as a werewolf and never use it and be resistant to all diseases in either form.

Bacong, if you want to cure yourself, finish the Companions Questline and then you'll be able to complete the Radiant Quest: Purity.  Once that is completed, you'll be cured of Lycanthropy and will be unable to contract it again (as opposed to Vampirism which can be contracted multiple times).

Spoilers for dark brotherhood i guess

The end of that questline was SO GOOD. When I assassinated the decoy I hauled ass out of Solitude so damn fast :lol I'm also pumped I got my 20k Gs and a sweet ass dagger out of the deal. As for Cicero, he came back. All I had to do was pay a 300G fine to the other dude for lying about killing him :lol

Sure, I'll just post it here if you wanna give it a try. The most time was spent trying to get the shadows into something I liked, what with the aforementioned trade off between distance and quality. The rest of it is mostly just cranking things up as high as I could. For reference my specs are:

Definitely not perfect, but I'm still experimenting with some things and looking around the internets for tips on improving visuals. If you have anything to suggest, go for it. I think the biggest thing bothering me now (other than the shadows) is getting things in the distance to look great. Mountains all look awesome, but the textures and trees on the ground look kinda ehhh from far enough away, or looking down from somewhere high.

Sweet Jesus, I'm not sure I can take out the frost troll on the way to High Hrothgar.

I didn't kill it, I just sorta attracted it's attention, ran back.. and then found a way I could take along the mountain-edge, so I sorta avoided the fight, came back out on the road a bit after the troll-place.

Although this game is still amazing without mods, unlike Oblivion, mods can always make games more enjoyable and customizable.

Here are the mods I've got so far:

Enhanced Blood Textures
Skyrim Better Performance
No More Blocky Faces
Detailed Faces v2
Large Address Aware
HD Furniture __ hi-res texture replacer
FXAA Post Process Injector
Armor Improvement
No Dirty Bodies - Caucasian Female Races
Vurts Skyrim Flora Overhaul
HiRes Road Signs
Landscape Texture Pack WIP
Third Person - Run Forward Bow Animation Tweak
3rd Person Dual Wield Animation Fix
Glowing Ore Veins 300
Enhanced Night Skyrim

Here are mods I hope will be developed:

Fellout (for Skyrim)
Footprints (especially in the snow)
Cloaks
Improved/instant change between first and third-person views (SO annoying)
Oscuro's Skyrim Overhaul!

Oh...I did that quest and reported him to the guards. I knew he was up to no good.  :lol

Well, like I was gonna do the Dark Brotherhood as a burly Nord Warrior with no sneak skill anyway, fuck that.

I'm in Markarth now, level 14 I believe.
Not sure what to think of the city, the first thing that happens when I enter is that some random dude just stabs a woman to death in the middle of the street, pretty random.  :lol
I had two quests that needed me to come here, one for the Thieves-guild and the one for Delphine where I should meet her east of the city, so I figured it was time to come here.

Really digging the Thieves and their hideout, it's a bit funny to do the quests when you play as a big Nord Warrior with full heavy armor and a 2-hander, but I've still managed the quests so far!

I "only" have about 17k gold, but probably stuff worth 2k in my inventory.
It sucks to sell stuff and only get 60-70% of what the value says, is this 100% bound to how I spend points in the Speech-tree?

I've spent most of that on getting loads of different kinds of spells though.
