I"m trying to kill a mammoth for the hell of it. I tricked it into chasing me into this little area. And I had it like 5 shots away and it run. And then the other mammoth got me. So. Fucking. Close.

Been exploring the majority of the western half of the world as of late. SO BEAUTIFUL. The angle of looking north towards Solitude from the high plains is stunning. Being able to look down a beautiful valley like that is so awesome.  :corn

The western half of the world is my favourite, in all honesty. It's absolutely breathetaking to stare at.

I've only found a few cave entrances here and there but I haven't explored them at all. This is exciting!

I found a really cool cave underneath Solitude (or the mountain where it is), hard to say exactly where, but the entrance was on the northern side of that big mountain, think the cave was called Shadow Green Cavern.
Looked really cool!

I've been doing a lot of nature-"exploits" (or whatever you wanna call it), like.. climbing up a mountain, going down a mountain where there really is no path, pretty much just going down slowly via the mountain wall.

Anyone else doing that?  :lol
yeah, that's pretty normal in Bethesda games.  I sort of wish that they had added some sort of mountain climbing system, but I guess it would just slow things down.

In other news: I still need some dragon scales to upgrade my armor into (legendary), and I'm trying to find all spell resists items so I can add those enchants to my own armor. The enchanting system in this game is pretty retarded IMO.

There's a quest to that cave that you get from Solitude, from some veteran dude.

Kosmo, after you mentioned Dragon armor I got all excited and gathered up the materials to make some of my own (I have plenty of dragon scales and dragon bones). Then I found out you have to be level 100 in smithing aparently. Fuck that.

It's easy as shit, though. You just have to craft Iron Daggers like crazy.

Fast travel to Whiterun (or any city, but I prefer this one) and to your right there's a blacksmithing spot with a vendor, buy Iron Ingots and Leather Strips, then just start crafting those daggers.

That's pretty much all it takes, just ingots and strips. And you can also turn normal leather into strips on the tanning rack.

Yes but you see, wouldn't that ultimately screw up the pacing I have set up for leveling my warrior class character who specializes in one handed, heavey armor, blocking with some archery and destruction?

And there's actually two vendors in the same spot with different stocks, so you can buy doubles. One is outside and one is inside.

Buy two sets of ingots and leather strips without having to wait for the stocks to refill.

On another note, I'm stuck on these 3 glowing rocks in the Ustengrov Depths. Does anyone have any tips to get past this shit?  :lol

Going to go complete some side quests for now...

I got stuck at the glowing stones for a bit as well, took me 10 minutes to realize "aha, that new shout I learned!", then it was easy.  :lol
Did you find the secret cave behind the waterfall (down where you learned the power word thingie)? Some gold there. :)

I've done a lot of running around the last two hours, managed to do the quest where I had to kill an ice wraith for the Stormcloak-guys (?) and then I got invited in after doing it.
There was also this elf-guy in Windhelm that was bothering me, apparently he became upset when I broke into his store to find valuables to take, so I ended up killing him, and stashing away his corpse in the storage-space.  :rollin
Now I have his key and his house, and the neat 200 gold he had hidden away in a strongbox!

Then I went up to do the Nettlebane (?)-quest at Orphans Rock (or something) with Lydia, actually the first time I took her out for a quest, but I figured that making it slightly easier was a good thing.
Some mobs up there that did shitload of damage, but managed to get it cleared.
Also found a camp/mini dungeon nearby that I cleared, some gold but not many valuables.

A few newb-questions though:
*I have the quest now where I should infiltrate some party in Solitude I believe (the one Delphine gives), and my question is.. will it affect anything that I chose Stormcloaks instead of the Empire, because I've read about people getting attacked from different cities and such, just so the guards won't be hostile or anything. :P
*About the Butcher/Serial-killer in Windhelm, the things I've heard sounds really interesting, and I've read that the whole quest-line starts in the cemetery-part, but how do I actually start it? Like, when does it become available?
I read about a guy that said that he stumbled upon a secret passage in a house, that led to the murderers secret place, anyone that knows if such a place exist, and if so, where it is? :>

This is fairly hilarious - the mythical flying horse https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=awm6lNOpGq8

First the war, then dragons, NOW FLYING HORSES?
Getting awful crowded in my sky.
