For one the level designs are awful. And don't try to defend it by saying that they're randomly generated, because the dungeons in Persona are random as well and they look great

I mean, I grew up with those story-driven JRPGs. I love them, and I miss them a lot. The truth is, though, that there aren't many good ones around anymore. Sure, there's been a handful over the last two years or so, but it looks like most of that generation's developers have moved on and this generation is into different things. I don't necessarily think one is better or worse; just different.

I didn't even know Persona dungeons were random. Then again I've only played the Innocent Sin for my PSP (love it to death :heart).

I'll agree to that. There's very few that come out anymore, and a lot of the ones that do kinda suck. Thing is, it's not that there's less of a demand for those games. There's still that same niche market. Though it's actually a fairly sizable niche market. However, since the gaming market as a whole has expanded, that same niche market is now smaller by comparison. So then, the sales are much lower compared to bigger mainstream titles. And with the increasing cost to develop games, it's harder for companies to make their money back.

THAT SAID. New "Tales Of" game coming out. Tales of Graces. Haven't had a chance to pick up any of the earlier titles, though I've heard so many great things. Definitely picking up ToG. Also, Disgaea 4.

As for ./Hack. Man, those games were fun. I'll admit, the level design was pretty lackluster. But I loved the way the leveling system was set up. So much fun. And the Story was pretty cool. At least, I seem to remember it being cool. I admittedly was about 15 when I played it. I also never got a chance to finish the whole series.

I meant P3 and P4, 1 and both Tsumi and Batsu are designed dungeons.

Still haven't started playing Tsumi because I haven't beaten P1 yet (because it suuuuucks)

Hopefully we'll get Tales of Xillia relatively soon, too *crosses fingers*

So in California, they can sell games when it hits midnight EST, or are you downloading the PC version of the game?

Buys Skyrim on PC so he wouldn't have to download it (as in, I have the disc).

Steam downloads anyway?

Mine installed right off the disc ???

All it had to download was the little patch which took like 5 minutes.

Is Zelda lumped into that category? 'Cause I think it's been fairly consistent in terms of quality.

Zelda's an action-RPG, right? There's been plenty of good action-RPGs in both from Japan and the US lately.

It's definitely awesome, and while I understand why it was packaged as it was, I was hoping for a rolled up map instead of all these creases.   :-\  I also was expecting it to be more "cloth" instead of parchment.

I've been standing in a house now trying for 10 minutes to awkwardly slide a bucket onto a guy's head. This is the best game ever.
