What does W.E.T. actually stand for?

Work of Art - Robert Sall
Eclipse - Erik Martnesson
Talisman - Jeff Scott Soto

No, I'm not kidding.

I totally missed this entire movement of bands.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Looks like I have another 3 listening parties for you.  ;D

Seriously, knowing you, you don't need to bother.  Talisman had some top stuff though.

1st WET album is decent enough, but still powder puff melodic rock. I’m totally with you Kade, re Eclipse. Those two albums are the cats meow (pun totally intended). I don’t know their first two albums (are they any good), but the three since Are You Ready To Rock are mediocre at best from what I remember.
That's a word salad - and take it from me, I know word salad

Didn't give the first two much attention.  From memory they were pretty damn ordinary.

I will say Armageddonize was pretty Damn good actually but the last two were such a disappointment.  Maybe I'll try them again.

Discovered this tune/band this morning (on Spotify, so I haven't watched the video - prolly cheesy af).  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTfBPLsfT3g

Full album is out 12/4 ... might check it out.  Finally some fresh Melodic Rock.

Another new one I stumbled on.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=791QBx_WHt4

How is this on Frontiers?  Pretty solid Prog-metal.  Not much of a fan of the keyboard sound, and the video (while high quality) is cheesy af.  I've never heard of this outfit... might have to check out their first two albums.

Frontiers back in the day use to have a little bit of this style from memory.  Not much but a little was there.

Controversial opinion.

If I didn't burn my eyes on the video, my ears would tell me that the Magic Dance was actually better than the Simulacrum.

This is a little song by a couple of guys calling themselves Rocket Up (band members Eddie Leppard and Axl Van Jovi) ...........sorta like Steel Panther meets Harem Scarem without the language.    The video has Wyld Stallyns as the band name in tribute to "Bill and Ted's"

If this is indicative of what they're working on as a bit of an 80's tribute/pisstake then I'm on board

This is the sort of bland shite that got Frontiers the reputation it has. Pleasant but no substance and no personality.

The Rocket Up was better. Just.

What does W.E.T. actually stand for?

Work of Art - Robert Sall
Eclipse - Erik Martnesson
Talisman - Jeff Scott Soto

No, I'm not kidding.

I totally missed this entire movement of bands.

I’d say you only really missed Talisman, and their albums were hit and miss for me. Some great stuff along with a lot of meh. When they were hot they were hot though.

Eclipse had a couple of good albums.

I think Talisman were very inconsistent overall.  You had to sort through most their albums for the gems as there were a lot of duds in there.  But the gems were excellent.  The debut was probably their best in terms of consistency I think but I haven't listened to them for a while.

For the best representation of the band, the 5 Men Live release is where it's at.
I feel so alone, I really love WoA.

The first album I picked up but can't tell you a thing about it.  Had some good guests too but the songs didn't have much substance or lasting power.  Joel is a great guitarist but haven't seen much evidence in the songwriting department.

I won't take Tim's opinion as gospel until I listen for myself.  :lol

I pretty much summed it up before listening it seems.

To go one step further, a generic piece of shit song like this is taking the piss with the people involved.  Forgettable and so underwhelming.
