Sure, not QUITE the right genre, but all the cool kids hang out here.  :P

And shouldn't you be concentrating more on MY upcoming roulette?!?!?!  Tim's is still a lot longer down the road.

Right you are - rightly or wrongly I have a feeling I have a lot less in my collection that will appeal to Tim and so when I hear something that I think fits the bill I've been noting it so I don't forget.  Not forgetting you  ;D

I'm also really struggling with what Winger track to submit to Tim and so I'm putting plenty of thought into that too.  ;)

Such a beastly hunk of man.

Tim, go check some of The Lord stuff. Great material.  I think it's on Grooveshark.
I ordered Digital Lies today. Holy Shiite!

And that's not even their best. Give Set in Stone a spin.  Top 50 (v2) worthy over here.

Fuck yeah to all of this.  Digital Lies was amazing but I agree with Chad that Set in Stone tops it.  Ascendance has some really great songs too and is worth a listen.  All the Dungeon stuff IMO is worth it, I can't wait for my boxset.

Chad, it was $10 to post within Australia and I'm in the state right next to Tim so I reckon you'll pay a big amount for shipping to you.  Hopefully they will release the 4 cd's seperately.

New Crazy Lixx album out soon. Sounds more promising than the last one, a bit closer to new Religion than the sound of the last one which I wasn't a fan of. We'll see.

The Crazy Lixx to me sounds a lot better than the last but still not close to New Religion.............we'll see.

Just getting through my first listen of Red Zone Riders -  I need to be in the mood for the more laid back bluesy stuff but as Paul said it's pretty damn good for what it is.   I'd actually say that Kelly Keeling's voice is perfectly suited to this style - perhaps more so than his rock stuff with Baton Rouge and so forth.  And Vinnie has cheated my ratings system a bit - a couple of songs I wasn't all that rapt in still got good marks purely due to the guitar solo :)

I don't expect it will be as good as New Religion, but it could be a solid rock album. I'm liking the sound of it so far.

Yeah, the lineup helps too.  I'm unfamiliar with the guitarist, but his work on this song is really good.

I'm not familiar with him either, but I like his style. Production sounds good too, not the cheap tinny metal sound.

I like JLT's voice, but don't really have a lot of music with him on it. I think I have Rainbow - Bent Out of Shape, and that's it.

I have shiteloads of music with JLT - don't tell me you don't have Odyssey by Malmsteen Blob??

The guitarist is Karl Cochran who's never been a big name but does have a long history with JLT and also a few KISS projects (Frehley's Comet , ESP and a co-write with Ace on Psycho Circus).  Last I heard he'd had a stroke and was in a coma , so presumably he's come out of it well.

I'm generally very put off by solo guitarists like that, although I haven't really checked out a lot of Malmsteen's stuff yet.

You certainly need to be picky with guitar wankery but Odyssey is acknowledged widely as Malmsteen's most restrained and commercial effort.

The only thing that I found strange about that live release is that it ignores the album "Marching Out"; my favorite Yngwie album. I wonder what the reason for that was

The Crazy Lixx to me sounds a lot better than the last but still not close to New Religion.............we'll see.

I don't expect it will be as good as New Religion, but it could be a solid rock album. I'm liking the sound of it so far.

Chris Laney mixed it so it sounds better than the last album. Would have preferred him to produce as well but certainly sounds good.
