Honeymoon Suite is great.  Whenever I hear the song "Burning in Love", its locked in my head for awhile.

New track from Jorn, for a game apparently. Starts off in the usual ploddy fashion but picks up a bit of pace in the chorus.

That'll be the role playing gamers. might be a good business move if he can tap some of that audience.

Well, I see some comments on Youtube like "Wow, I've never listened to this type of music, but I like it, what you guys can recommend to listen to?", so he'll probably gather some audience. Though his solo stuff isn't so strong, so this guys will probably end up exploring Avantasia and Masterplan and that stuff. Maybe Allen/Lande too.

It's for League of Legends, quite a famous MOBA-type game, I think it's the most popular in the genre now. There are big international cybersports tournaments being hosted up for this game and all these things. I think it's a good decision on his part to participate in this.

The song is alright too, nothing spectacular, but a nice introduction to the genre for non-metal listeners, being tied up with the game and its characters.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Awesome. I cannot wait!!

Are they actually covering an AC/DC tune?
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Yeah and it's a sucky song as well. I'd rather hear a version of Spellbound, if they are doing one from that era.

Night of the Long Knives refers a few different things. It is not necessarily a cover of the AC/DC track.

A new release that might interest fans of Firehouse ........................features their singer - not anything groundbreaking but better than Firehouse has done in a while.

Even though he has been ill for quite some time, this was still a shock for me.  Even though I was born in the 80's, I loved hearing their stuff on Triple M constantly growing up.  Terrific band, Doc was a unique and charismatic frontman.  Guitar work too is great.

I've literally never heard that phrase before, other than AC/DC, and in the song, I could never tie the chorus to the verse lyrically.

It was a pretty British thing I think. I certainly didn't think AC/DC cover when I saw the title.

Couple questions, guys.
1. Does the Sabaton album have clean vocals throughout? Any growls at all?
2. Anyone have the Vandenberg's Moonkings album? Any good?

The couple of tracks I heard had a Zep feel to them  - which for me is " a very bad thing". Other opinions exist

Of the Sabaton albums I've heard, plus seeing them live, I'd classify their vocals as aggressive, not growlie. I totally enjoyed them.

I was a little taken back by your statement, but then I did remember when I first heard Sabaton, I wasn't impressed at all.
It was only when I saw them supporting Nightwish, in Sydney 18 months ago, that they totally blew me away and after that I was
hooked, and they have been my fave band for the past 18 months.

I mean how can you not like band who have a song about our ANZAC soldiers (Cliffs Of Gallipoli)?

Sabaton have an amazing sound but I find a lot of their stuff doesn't cross the obvious language barrier too well.

And those frrrrrrreaking rrrrrrrrolled rrrrrrr's are a pain in the rrrrrrrrrrs.  ;D

I love those R's and he dosen't sound  anything like a typical power metal singer.
The lyrics, really?
I never had any problems understanding them and they are so well researched and written, a total history lesson every one of them.

To be fair to Sabaton I've only sampled maybe 8-10 tracks across a few albums - I actually bought Carolus Rex to give them a better listen but haven't got around to it.

With regard to the lyrics I agree - they do put plenty of work into the subject matter and the singing is very clear.  This is going to sound silly but I'll say it anyway  :P  - I have Scandi metal bands singing in English where I can barely understand a thing they're singing and it generally annoys me less than hearing it crystal clear and being obvious that it's not well written English.  I find that one hard to explain but it is what it is.

I have heard it mentioned that plenty of Sabaton fans actually prefer the "native tongue" version of Carolus Rex  though - even though they can't understand a word - which may sorta get to what I'm saying.

The rolled r's do grate on me for some reason.

I do intend to get into that Carolus Rex properly though as I do  like their sound and want to give them a better chance to impress.

CR took me a while to really get into, but once I knew the story and what each song meant, it started to feel a lot better.
I have heard the Swedish version, but the English version is my fave.

The thing that puts me off when I have sampled them is the vocals. And the vocal melodies. I'm not a big fan of the cheerful, hymn-like choruses that plagues Power Metal. I like things a little bit darker, especially considering the subject matter.
Still, that Anzacs song was ok. Reminded me of something though.

The new Tesla is up on Spotify. Really enjoying it. Good songs. The only thing missing is an 80s guitar sound. Leads are great but rhythm guitars have that usual modern lack of dynamics. No-one has signature tone anymore. Rant over.

From what I've heard from Brainstorm, they are pretty good.  Old school vibe for sure.
