I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Correct.  The first one and the second one contain the same material though... the first one was the "test pressing" (i.e., the first copy) of the second one.

Sealed Majesty demo cassette. (someone already posted a picture of it earlier)

Take The Time promo CD wrapped in the purple ribbon and gold wax seal.

When Dream and Day Unite Tour shirt

Letter by early manager Ross (blanking on his first name) to Ozzy's record label suggesting Dream Theater become Ozzy's backing band.

What distinguishes this as a test pressing?

I'm assuming my copy is not one, but I just want to be sure.

I've never run across the 1987 demo either. I'd agree that there were probably less copies pressed in 1987 than there were of the 1986 demo.

Perhaps Mike can shed some light on the numbers pressed?

Nothing music wise...but the guys signed my copy of Lifting Shadows the last time they were in Melbourne.
Also the print  that came with the BC&SL Box Set was also signed by each member of the band including MP!  :smiley:

A framed signed Tour date announcement  of the Systematic Chaos Tour dates for Australia by Roadrunner which is great,
 because it was their first time in OZ! (apart from G3 in 06)  :smiley:
It has an authenticity certificate but it still may be one of many but still great for me.  :smiley:

As seen on my avatar the dt leather jacket wich the guys signed for me two years ago in gelsenkirchen and the se bc&sl box which they signed same year in ludwigsburg. I love my jacket, i only wear it going to concerts :heart :heart

I don't think it is unique as with the meet and greets they are actually probably quite common

SFAM signed by the whole band line-up 1999-2010

well the booklet is the signed item

Had it signed in the Meet and greet in Southampton 2009
