While the single player seems like the typical fps single player, the immersion you get from the environment is incredible.  Not the best gameplay, but I found it extremely enjoyable and cool

I didn't get to play last night and now I'm dying to get on and play.  I still want to figure out what my frame rate issues are all about.  I feel like there is no way I should be dropping below 30fps on low settings.  I feel like I should be able to play on at least medium with steady frame rate.

Is the game running smoothly for everyone here?  I keep reading about crashes and freezes and stuff like that.

I get some network lag on the 32v32 matches, and occasionally it will crash when trying to join a game or alt-tab out of it.  Once I'm in game and playing though, it's pretty solid.

Running great for me with a few exceptions.

1. I BSOD'd twice last night, but I think it may have been due to my microphone.
2. I get inexplicably booted from servers once in a while.

Someone posted a new driver for AMD graphics card on the forums.  I'm going to try installing that when I get home to see if it makes anything better.

Also, I just realized that when I click the Battlefield icon on my desktop nothing happens.  I have been opening the game by opening origin first (which takes a long time to open for me) and then clicking battlefield 3 from the origin menu.

At least on the maps where it's daytime. They should nerf it a bit for Tehran Highway, though, as its more likely to blind someone in that nighttime environment.

Eh, I don't really mind it, easier way to pick up my target when they flash me.

From long distances, that's what happens for me. But, when they're super close to me in the daytime, the light still blinds me and it's annoying and unrealistic (for the daytime at least).

So a question to you guys: any of you done the port forwarding thing with BF3? Does it help at all with latency/lag?

It's 2 years old.  The game auto sets me for high settings though.  And on low settings I should definitely have a good frame rate.

If you get low FPS regardless of graphics settings, it's probably the processor. Or something else, but definitely not the graphics card.

I have a feeling its something with the game.  Some levels I'm getting way better FPS than other levels.  As you can see by my specs, my processor is plenty fast for this game.

Anyways, I'm on now if anyone wants to play.

I admit I'm a bit behind in terms of hardware :P (though I have the same graphics card as you) but I remember the period when I had the 4850 and only a single-core Celeron 4 with it, and the problem I had with several games was that I could run them on any resolution and details settings I pleased, but unfortunately the FPS were low on every setting and it didn't matter if I'm on 1280x1024 and uber-high details or 640x480 and everything set to lowest. If the processor is very good, then it can be something else, but if graphics settings have no influence, then it cannot be the graphics card.

This game is so freaking hard to play btw. I never know where the enemy is, where they are coming from, or generally wtf is going on.  I always die and have no idea anyone is in the area.  It's getting frustrating.

DICE needs to nerf the Stinger a bit. Just one hit to take down choppers? Come on!

While it takes 3-4 shots to down a tank with a RPG!

You do realize that tanks are heavily armored and choppers are not whatsoever? Also it takes 2 RPG shots to take down a tank.
