After 3 listens The Color Spectrum is definitely my favourite album of the year so far.

Absolutely agreed, to the point where I'm not sure I want DT11 to beat it out.

Favorite songs:

Black: This Body
Red: I Couldn't Do it Alone
Orange: But There's Wolves?
Yellow: She's Always Singing
Green: The Canopy
Blue: The Collapse of the Great Tide Cliffs
Indigo: Mandala
Violet: Mr. Malum
White: Fall and Flee

I absolutely love the groove of I Couldn't Do it Alone. The Canopy is really upbeat and just puts a smile on my face, Mr. Malum is insane and I love the weird vibe it gives off. And I absolutely adore the end of The Collapse of the Great Tide Cliffs.

Almost exactly the same for me, except for White I choose Lost But Not All Gone, Deny it All for Red, and Lillian in Violet.

Another new observation: Blue EP isn't *bad* but it is rather unmemorable.

Blue is fantastic.

I don't mean it as a negative, but more like an absence of a positive.  It goes by and before I know it, it's over, and I don't even remember it.

I've really warmed up it, actually.  It's certainly not the most memorable of the EPs nor the most "wow"-inducing one, but I've really grown to appreciate its subtlety.  I think it'd be best enjoyed out at sea at night or something.

I'm the same as SD with Blue. It's good, but not hugely memorable, and seems to have less of an identity than the others. The bluesy first track is great, but after that it's kinda nothingy.

Blue really is great.
I love the oceanic/chilled out-vibe that it has, and it really sounds like an EP I would listen to if I would go out on a boat or something.
Or just great summer-music if I'm on a beach or something. ;)

Well, yellow sounds rather... hard to describe, but I guess that would work well on a summer day as well.
Maybe more if I'm spending the summer day outside on the grass, meanwhile Blue really needs some sort of water-source.

Yup, yellow is more picnics and hotdogs and baseball games. Blue is the beach one. Sonata got it wrong as usual.

Green would probably be smoking grass. =D

Anyhow, Blue is much better then people give it credit for.
Just listening through the box for the 5th time, and every song on Blue is really good.

I would say in general that Yellow, Green, and Blue are all summer EPs.  All of them are either chilled out or bright and sunny in some way, so any one will do.

Yellow is playing games on the beach.

Green is sitting outside a country pub enjoying a refreshing pint.

Blue is more melancholy and reminds me of chilling out on a warm evening.

So yeah all three are quite summery.

So, I think I can have a go at favourite songs now, although it's definitely subject to change:

Black: Filth and Squalor.
Red: I Couldn't Do It Alone
Orange: A Sea of Solid Earth
Yellow: Misplaced Devotion
Green: Crow and Cackle
Blue: The Collapse of the Great Tide Cliffs (this one just hit me today)
Indigo: Mandala
Violet: OH GOD I CAN'T DECIDE BETWEEN MR. MALUM AND LILLIAN.
White: Fall and Flee
