Is there anywhere we can see Casey's version?

Read the lyrics in the album booklets?  (That's what I meant by "Casey's version")  =).

And I think the implied randomness is probably due more to the brevity than the style... I didn't really want to get into TOO much detail... this is kinda like the starter version.  Half the fun of it is discovering all the intricacies and deeper meanings on your own!

Ah ok yeah. :lol I've read all the lyrics and have my own framework for my interpretation, but there was some stuff I didn't really know or get especially, so I've read a couple of other interpretations online which definitely helped, although they were horribly worded. Like, much worse than yours, but not deliberately so. :lol

Anything in particular?  I'm always up for discussion of the more intricate story points... still lots of stuff I haven't quite figured out myself.

Have you seen the booklet that comes with the Special Edition of Act III?  That definitely helps clears up some of the plot points for Act II.

Alright, I have the link for the NYC ready to share.

All you have to do is get Ryan to check out a few Amorphis songs and I'll share. :D

Damn, I finally gave in and ordered the vinyl... 80 bucks + 52 bucks shipping - guess that means showing up at the customs office to pick it up and pay some additional fees...  :\

a true fan

Hmm, not really, I think (which brings us to the question: when are you a "fan"?). But I'm a sucker for special editions like these. I haven't heard a sinlge song from the albums yet, but I really like the Act-series a lot. Cool band!!
Another reason was that I can afford it at the moment. If I have to pick it up at the customs office, that might require an additional 45 minute drive.  ::)

Why are we here why do we die?
Maybe we're just never meant to know why

The only track on this thing that I don't think is beyond excellent is "But There's Wolves?." COME TO ME FULL VERSION.

Funny.  I think the song you quoted is by far the weakest on the album, mostly because of the part you actually quoted.  And I think "But There's Wolves?" is one of the highlights.

:icwomangs:

That one is one of my favorites!

"But There's Wolves?" wasn't really my favorite at first, but it was definitely a "grower" and I've started to like it a bit more.

Yeah, that chorus just doesn't do it for me.  The music is fine, but if you're asking questions about existence you can't get more boring than those lines.  :lol

1. Home
2. Trapdoor
3. Things that Hide Away
4. Lillian
5. Filth and Squalor
6. She's Always Singing
7. The Canopy
8. Deny it All
9. What Time Taught Us
10. Fall and Flee
11. But There's Wolves?

Edit: That was pretty hard because all the tracks are great. There's no real jumps in quality from my viewpoint at all.
Edit2: Yeah, the lyric is fairly pedestrian, Matt, but I was using the quote more as a representation of the song rather than an expression of love for the words.

I guess, but I mean I'm not really listening in the hopes of finding some sort of Earth shattering deeply philosophical revelation.  There are plenty of ridiculously complex deep metaphorical lyrics in the Acts stuff anyway... I think one general intention of the Colors overall is just to present some simpler, more straightforward songs.  My favorite track on the CD is probably "She's Always Singing", and half the lyrics to that one are just "bah, bah bah bah bah, bah bah bah, bah, bah bah bah, bah".  :)

I don't think grouping the Bitter Suite as one song is really fair.

At least I wouldn't, considering that the first two parts would be near the top rank, while the third one would be near the bottom!
