I think if MP was still in the band, then maybe they'd bring along TDH.  I know MP is a big fan.  Not sure if it would still happen today.

Yeah, I could seeing them being part of a Prog Nation tour or something as the more accessible, yet proggy band. But probably not just as a straight opener on a normal tour.

They recently opened for Coheed and Cambria actually.

I think TDH and Coheed have a very similar fan base.  I also think there's somewhat of a relationship between the two bands - Dear Hunter and 3 used to play together now and then back in 08/09.  I actually even ran into Josh Eppard at one of those shows in upstate New York in May of '09

Is the DVD an Amazon order type deal, or is it going to be available in retail stores?

I'm assuming it'll be available in retail stores, but nothing firmed yet.  I think pre-orders start next week?

Zep, since the link said it was filmed in HD, do you have any idea if we can expect a blu ray eventually?

I seem to remember Casey saying at some point that it will be available in Blu Ray, but don't quote me on that.  It's more of a hazy memory rather than anything I have written down.  I think it came up at some point when we were talking to him after the show.

Alright then, thanks. I will just get the DVD for now and if a bluray comes some day I will probably go for it too. Anything to support these guys.

I assume the Blu Ray and DVD will come out at the same time, but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Anyway... apparently Casey is doing a 30 minute online acoustic show on Thursday night.  400 tickets left... cost is "pay what you can".  https://www.stageit.com/the_dear_hunter/album_announcement_show/18473

Already got mine.

While it says "pay what you want", they seemed pretty damn adamant that I pay at least 30 notes, which is $3.  I gave Casey $5 anyway because he's awesome like that.

New song is pretty sweet.  Nothing like the announcement of a new TDH album, a new TDH song, and a date in Raleigh to make me less sad about TMV breakup.

the new song is so good <3

also:

The track listing for Migrant:
1. Bring You Down
2. Whisper
3. Shame
4. An Escape
5. Shouting at the Rain
6. The Kiss of Life
7. Girl
8. Cycles
9. Sweet Naiveté
10. Let Go
11. This Vicious Place
12. Don't Look Back

if Shouting at the Rain isn't the best song ever I'll be very disappointed.

New song is pretty good, not amazing or anything but it does sound like a synthesis of their Act-based material and their Color Spectrum stuff and for that I am happy.

Preordered the CD too. Half the stuff in the bundle is stuff I don't want at all so I passed.

Fairly recently discovered the joys of this band. The Colour Spectrum is just...it's just so good. So good. Haven't got into the Act albums to the same depth, but I intend to! New song sounds cool too
