Yo so I like just listened to most of the Color Spectrum, and it was woah.
Indigo and Violet are awesome, and so is Black. So far not too into Orange, but I guess I'll see. The rest are really cool, too.
Anyway, what's up with this group? I'm tryna see what I can else I can get by 'em.
Oh and first post. yeah.
They started off as a concept band, so their first three albums make up the first three parts of a 6-part story. First three albums are:
Act I: The Lake South, The River North
Act II: The Meaning Of, and All Things Regarding Ms. Leading
Act III: Life and Death
After Act III, they took a break from the Acts storyline to record the Color Spectrum (which it seems you've already heard)
To date, that's all they've really officially released. They just finished recording their next album, which has no theme or concept - it's just a standard collection of songs. The album does not yet have a title, and is currently slated for release around March, 2013.
If you want to dig a little deeper, there's an early demo called Dear Ms. Leading, which contains some early versions of Act II songs and a few other songs that haven't been released anywhere. There's also a special edition of Act III with a couple of bonus tracks.
Then there's two early EPs called Random EP #1 and Random EP #2. #1 has remixes of three songs from Act II, and #2 has all three tracks from#1, plus an alternate version of the first song from Act I, an Untitled song not available anywhere else and a cover of Elton John's Yellow Brick Road.
They also have a 3-track fan club EP floating around out there called The Branches EP. Three new songs completely unrelated to any of the Acts or TCS stuff.
That covers the basics. If you wanna get REALLY crazy, there are also a couple of other random demo songs floating around out there. A few cover songs - Brazil [Sinatra], The War of All Against All [Receiving End of Sirens], Unison [Bjork], Lilac Wine [Nina Simone/Jeff Buckley], Beautiful Girls [Sean Kingston], Grounds For Divorce [Elbow], Priests and Paramedics [Pedro The Lion] and Chestnuts Roasting On a Open Fire.
And a few super obscure originals - Paycheck, Banjo Song and a song called Red Wine recorded w/ one of the dudes from Atreyu
I think that's everything
