Yes.

EDIT - For some reason, I never noticed how incredible the piano during the verses of Red Hands is until a week ago. Every time I hear it now, I completely focus on it. So haunting and beautiful.

I wasn't taking it personally at all, I just honestly can't see a problem with the sound on Act III. And it's not like I'm blind (deaf) to overcompression, as some albums really annoy me with it. I guess maybe I just have a different threshold.

I think the actual music might have something to do with it as well. Act III is much more dynamic musically than SC.

Just got the CD of Act II yesterday, and it osunds AMAZING!  :D The Lake and The River is such an amazing song and the last 5 songs are an incredible run.

I wish I got to see Black Sandy Beaches live, but they played it a couple before/after my show.

That song is definitely a fan favorite and a song that gets played very frequently, so I'm sure it'll work it's way back into their set lists soon enough.

Act III clips all the time, it's pretty annoying.

Act II sounds far better.

I remember Casey saying he wanted to remaster Act I and possibly Act II to bring them up to Act III quality, which worries me a little.

Dug up and dusted off from the deepest corners of the internet:

"Red Wine" by Enter Saints (the only released demo from the 2007 collaboration-that-never-came-to-be between Casey and Brandon Saller from Atreyu).

https://puu.sh/2Ygz

He's the best part of Atreyu, always loved his voice. That song is pretty great.

I had a bizarre dream last night.

I dreamt I was one of 9 prisoners in a POW camp. We were each assigned a Color Spectrum EP. We were forced to sing songs from our EP one by one for the prison guard's amusement. However, whenever someone else would start singing, I would constantly interrupt them with an over-dramatic rendition of the OH MYYYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOD line from This Body. The prison guards got pissed off, shot me, and I woke up. :lol

The Color Spectrum sounds/looks perfect, so I guess that's a good sign. I don't know much about the workings of Act III, but I'm wondering if the record company interfered to give it more of a "punch", kind of like what you mentioned in the other thread about Deadwing/IA.

Must get it!

Also the wooden box version is a bit gay... 85$ (standard is 30$) for a poster and a box... made of wood. The rest is identical to the standard version.

I guess that really depends on what the poster looks like.  I mean, individually hand screened from a woodblock and signed and numbered by Casey and Cameron... this sounds like a legitimate art print rather than just a cheap "poster".  And knowing Cameron Thorne, it's gonna look pretty badass.

What does it mean for a poster to be "screened"?
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"

If you just take a quick scan of the artists blog you can see he doesn't half-ass stuff.

Just check out this post on how he made the cover for the Indigo EP - https://cameronthornedesign.tumblr.com/post/6560964792/tdh-indigo-high-res-cover-debut-tedious

I was going to buy the boxset, but I already got the vinyl one and don't have 85 bucks + shipping. Also yeah, the box itself is kinda ugly... I actually like the standard one better.  :lol

Poster should be cool though, that would be why I would get it if I was going to.

HELL YES

Chris, any idea where this is going to be distributed? Like, will it come out in the UK through standard channels (like Amazon)? Or should I just import it from the US? I'm just referring to the regular edition, not the box set.

@Rich - Not sure.  I assume it'll be distributed through regular channels but I'll throw up a post on the TDH boards to see if I can get an answer.

@glaurung - My assumption is no, but you never know.  It's not officially released until November 1st, but I know they had the sampler CD available at shows a few weeks prior to release, so it wouldn't shock me if they had this too.

here is what is in the bonus dvd features-

4 songs from the APK show we did in the loft in brooklyn (church and the dime, home, red hands, weve got a score to settle)
a feature on the trip across country thats about an hour and 20 minutes and has 7 (i think) acoustic performances
3 videos on the recording process (really just clips that are strung together- not enough cohesive material to make a 'plot' based approach to the tracking process...

i think its about 17 minutes for the orange video
16 minutes for the blue/yellow video
and 22 minutes for the white/violet video...

there are no videos for the other recordings as there was no videographer with me...

SO that is whats on the dvd... i dont know why they didnt include that in the product description.

So, while the box set will be limited, it doesn't say anything about the regular edition. I guess that one is not limited right? Will I be able to get it months from now without much problem? I want it but I already have the vinyls so for now I'd rather get some other stuff that I'm missing before getting these CDs.

Is TDH an 'indie' band?  Something I've been thinking about lately.

They're kind indie I guess... the Acts are more just progressive rock, and The Color Spectrum is more straightforward.

I'd say they are.  Playing small venues, the Yellow, Indigo, Green, and White EPs, they're on an independent label, they love vinyl, BEARDS...yeah, definitely indie.

Both sound like something I could imagine coming from a lot of indie bands.
