Three new songs (not related to the storyline)

1. B. Linus

if you signed up for the Fanclub, CHECK YOUR EMAIL.

There are I guess 80 or so people who HAVE NOT SENT IN THEIR PHOTOS FOR THEIR LAMINATE (for their exclusive pass).

I'm starting to think the two of us are the only two DTF'ers who got in on this... (and I sent my laminate pic in weeks ago :))

Yeah. I absolutely would have liked to, but I have no money to throw around :lol

So I heard they're working on one of those Color EPs, but they've decided to have Act IV be a full album and are going to work on that afterward?

1. B. Linus

I will so love if that's a reference to what I think it is.

I think the plan is actually to do all 9 of the Color EPs at once, no?  (I could be wrong about that).

And I'm pretty sure that B. Linus is a Lost reference, although the song itself has nothing to do with Lost.  Casey is a pretty big Lost fan.  (The more astute Lost fans will note that the title to track #2 of the Branches EP is also a Lost reference - Isabella is the name of Richard's wife)

Isabella is also the name of that high-ranking Other that was only seen once in season 3, the one that read Jack's tattoo :P

But yeah, I read the lyrics - it's not about Lost, but it's about a liar, so I guess that's why he chose the name :tup

Casey actually was asked and chimed-in about his thoughts of the Lost finale on TDH fans forum. Anyone curious?

The fanclub deal sounded amazing, but I didn't bother, partly because it's fairly pricey, but mainly because I live in the UK so I'm not sure how much use I'd get out of the lifetime pass anyway!

thoughts:

Perfect. I immediately went online to read what others thought of the finale, and also to see what lingering questions people had, and for the most part I found people who really seemed to miss the point. Luckily, in the cracks, there are people who understood and enjoyed the finale, and those blogs/reviews were really fun to read.

For me, it doesn't matter if the producers knew exactly every bit of information from the first day- and it is also irrelevant if walt, or aaron, or any other unaddressed characters went without explanation. For some reason I was left feeling very fulfilled. ]

I think the thing that we have to remember is that these producers and writers didn't release one movie... they released one storyline over the period of 6 years, and maybe I am just biased, and feel akin to their workflow, but what is important to me is the story. At the end of the day I can trace a beautiful story from start to finish.

Why does it matter that the writers maybe didn't know who adam and eve were in the cave at the time they put them in there. I think they knew they wanted to plant the seed of a man and a woman from a long time ago, and they left that open to return to later in their writing. Whatever idea came first, you are still left with 1 story, and hypotheses about the intent in earlier seasons seems wasteful.

now that im done with that rant...

the ending was beautiful, and I have no problem admitting when vincent laid next to jack I felt a wave of emotion rush over me, and as you saw jacks eye close, bringing the last 6 years full circle, I sealed my fate as a life long lost fan.

Quote from: Casey Crescenzo

I do think that Jack's father literally spelled it out in the last 10 minutes, so I can't totally understand people who didn't get it. BUT I do understand not liking it, it is a much more spiritual approach to wrapping up the show, and I can understand why people may have felt the last season of flash sideways moments were worthless, but when you understand that those moments were about unfinished business, and when you remember that time was very malleable since the beginning of the show, i feel that the last season really makes perfect sense.

but i dont want to argue or shoot down anyone's opinions or hypotheses, just want to help anyone who didnt understand because I really loved the ending, and it made it feel like the best, and longest, movie I had ever seen. a movie over 100 hours long.

Hmm... just heard that they'll be doing a short West Coast tour opening for Circa Survive in July/August... hope that isn't the news they were talking about!  (Because I'm on the East Coast!)

They're all right.  Didn't like em much at the Coheed show (in part because of the frontman and audience, not his voice specifically though), but I heard "Get Out" in Best Buy and liked it.

 :lol That video is awesome

One of the voices sounds way too much like adam02. Not only in the way it's downtuned, but also the way of talking. Weird.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

The new re-worked acoustic tracks are pretty fab - Especially "The Pimp and the Priest" and "Where the Road Parts"

still hoping my mine will arrive soon.

I think Casey said that they JUST got in the clear vinyls for the fan club people, and as soon as they can get some Paypal money released they'll start shipping them.

The copy in the picture is the black vinyl.  The collector in me had to get one of each...

Fer sure.  Already on the list.  Can't wait!  =)

Knitting Factory is awesome too.  I was there a few weeks ago for Annuals.  The place is uber-tiny and has really good sound.
