Ok, I listened to Distant Satellites and it left a way better first impression than Weather Systems. I like the more melancholic vibe, and the first two parts of The Lost Song, Ariel and Anathema really stood out. I think one of the reasons I was sort of disappointed by WS was that the songs that were released before the album (Untouchable Pt. 1 and The Beginning and the End) ended up being my favorites and nothing else felt as good, but on DS the song that was released as a preview of the album (The Lost Song Pt. 3) isn't one of the highlights. The only song I don't like yet is You're Not Alone, but I could see DS becoming one of my top 4 Anathema albums after more listens. Also, one of the things I paid attention to was Vinnie's vocal performance - he's always been a great singer, but there are some pretty intense vocal moments on this album.
